Old City LIVE Free Concert Series
Starting in July a new concert series keeps Knoxville rocking, Old City Live! More than twenty-five bands take the stage bringing a fun family atmosphere to downtown Knoxville. The Historic Old City district association is hosting the Thursday night free concert series. It features recording artists from genres like southern rock to bluegrass touring the Southeast and across the country. The Old City courtyard located behind Southbound plays host to the concert series with enough space for thousands to enjoy. It runs from Thursday, July 4th through August 24th.
Old City Live is meant for all ages and encourages families to come and enjoy great live music, free. Food and adult beverages are served outside in the courtyard, along with local vendors selling assorted types of food and merchandise. These shows will provide a festive atmosphere.
The Old City now has ample free parking to accommodate the patrons for the show. Since the redesign of Smart Fix 40, government has paved the way for football sized free parking lots located between Jackson and Willow avenues just one block east of the event. All parking lots are well lit and located close to the event.
All rain shows will be moved inside to Southbound Bar & Grills indoor stage.
The Old City Courtyard played host to Sundown years ago in order to accommodate the redesign of Market Square. Old City merchants are ready to bring that caliber of performance and fun back to where it belongs with Old City Live. The Historic Old City district association is made up of the businesses that call the Old City home. For more information on bands and their bios please visit http://www.oldcitylive.net.
