George Strait Likes His Time Outdoors
Most of the year, George Strait can be found on his ranch outside San Antonio, Texas, but every once in a while George and his wife Norma set off for a more exotic location -- Africa. The couple has been on several safaris together, and actually set off on one last month. George compares the experience to going out camping for a month in the wild bush. He says, "They make it as nice as they can, and it is very nice, but you are out in a tent."
Every morning after breakfast, George and Norma set off in the vehicle looking for certain animals to hunt by following their tracks. He says, "You see so many different kinds of animals...cape buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant, giraffes, zebras...it's just an incredible place."
Norma's favorite animal is the giraffe because they're so majestic-looking. George says, "When they run, they look like they're in slow motion."
