Little League Baseball returns to Knoxville. The last park in Knoxville to be sanctioned by Little League Baseball has become the first to return to the world wide sanctioning body for youth baseball. The Bearden Youth Baseball program will play Little League beginning this year and joins the Karns program as the only other youth baseball park playing under the Little League banner in Knox County. Field of Flags Memorial Dedication (Church Event)
Time: 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Location: Parkway Presbyterian Church, 940 Sanctuary Lane, Knoxville, TN
Field of Flags Memorial honors US military who have lost lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. A flag will be "planted" for each. Total number is approximately 5,300. The memorial will be on display for 30 days. Dedication service is Sat, Feb. 13, 11 a.m.
Performance Training, Inc. All Sports Camp (Youth)
Time: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Location: Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center
Experience the fitness and fun of All Sports Camp, where campers explore a variety of sports and fitness opportunities that will keep them active and building healthy habits to last a lifetime. Instruction is taught at all skill levels while promoting self-confidence, balance, coordination, and teamwork.All Sports Camp is located at Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center (FSHFC). Members of FSHFC will pay $130 for the week. Non-members will pay $160 for the week. Discounts are available for families with more than one child enrolled. Camp is held Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (see dates below for registration). ETTAC takes used computers (Free Community Service)
Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: East Tennessee Technology Access Center
If you bought a new computer system during Tennessee’s tax free holiday and want to know where to drop off your old computer, the East Tennessee Technology Access Center will accept Pentium IV computers or better. All computers must be in good working condition. ETTAC is a regional nonprofit agency that helps people with disabilities. The staff adapts computers with specialized software and hardware that are then loaned to clients to enable them to learn, work and to become more productive. All donations are tax deductible. Computers can be dropped off at their Knoxville office located at 4918 North Broadway. You may also call (865) 219-0130 to possibly arrange to have it picked up, but we cannot guarantee in all cases that we can do this.
