Boy Scouts of America Popcorn Sales (Fundraiser/Charity)
Location: Knoxville and surrounding citys

Every year the Boy Scouts sell popcorn to help raise money for the local camp, the troop or pack, and most important the boys. We will be at your local store selling and door to door starting Sept. 21 thur Nov. 2.For every dollar you spend 70% of it stays here to help the boys. So come out and help support the boys. Scarecrows in the Park (Special Event)

Location: New Harvest Park

Walk the Greenway Trail and see the creative scarecrows made by local organizations and individuals. The event starts on Thursday, October 22 at the New Harvest Park Farmers Market. Vote for your favorites and then come to the Harvest Festival on Saturday and find out who wins.

Experience the fitness and fun of All Sports Camp, where campers explore a variety of sports and fitness opportunities that will keep them active and building healthy habits to last a lifetime. Instruction is taught at all skill levels while promoting self-confidence, balance, coordination, and teamwork.All Sports Camp is located at Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center (FSHFC). Members of FSHFC will pay $130 for the week. Non-members will pay $160 for the week. Discounts are available for families with more than one child enrolled. Camp is held Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (see dates below for registration). ETTAC takes used computers (Free Community Service)
Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: East Tennessee Technology Access Center

If you bought a new computer system during Tennessee’s tax free holiday and want to know where to drop off your old computer, the East Tennessee Technology Access Center will accept Pentium IV computers or better. All computers must be in good working condition. ETTAC is a regional nonprofit agency that helps people with disabilities. The staff adapts computers with specialized software and hardware that are then loaned to clients to enable them to learn, work and to become more productive. All donations are tax deductible. Computers can be dropped off at their Knoxville office located at 4918 North Broadway. You may also call (865) 219-0130 to possibly arrange to have it picked up, but we cannot guarantee in all cases that we can do this.

The Mountain Press is holding its first Holiday of Hope pageant benefiting Sevier County Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society. There are 12 age divisions, including a special division for cancer survivors 25 years old and up. There are six extra categories (photogenic, prettiest eyes, etc.,) that can be entered for $5 each.Early registration is under way through Aug. 31 for $20. Normal registration from Sept. 1-Nov. 6 is $25. Late registration after Nov. 6 and day of event is $30.The Ambassador of Hope title will be awarded to the contestant who wins the sponsorship contest and will have their photo on the front of the pageant program.Forms can be picked up at The Mountain Press, Sevier County branches of Citizens National Bank, Tennessee Shindig, Thomas Photography and Colour Bar and Spa. TNT Dulcimer Trio to Perform at Blount County Public Library (Concerts)

T.N.T., composed of Ginny Cliett, Linda Smith, and Deby Libby, will perform a dulcimer concert, using multiple dulcimers, at the Blount County Public Library on Monday, October 26, at 7:00 p.m.Music presented for the concert will include familiar fiddle tune medleys, some “twisted” medleys, original compositions, fast and slow tempos, and a variety of styles and dulcimer types.
