Candlelight Christmas at Rocky Mount (Special Event)
Location: Rocky Mount Museum

Rocky Mount will portray an 18th century Christmas Eve at Candlelight Christmas, a celebration inviting visitors to join the Cobb family as they celebrate the holiday. On December 4-5 and 11-12, the candle-lit event uses music, dancing, decorations and sacred tales to create a historic festival, and relate the story of a special Christmas that dates back more than 200 years.

Twelve Days of Christmas in Old Appalachia (Special Event)
Location: Museum of Appalachia

The simple joys of an old-fashioned Christmas await Museum of Appalachia visitors during the month of December. From Dec. 1-12, the Museum will celebrate “Twelve Days of Christmas in Old Appalachia” with special music and activities each day. Throughout the holiday season cabins will be decorated in pioneer style, recalling times past when Christmas was a quiet family holiday. During chilly December days, visitors may tour the Hall of Fame exhibit building in leisurely comfort. Logs burn brightly in the brick fireplace downstairs, and there’s time to read the Museum’s trademark stories about colorful and resourceful Appalachian folk.Regular admission

Knoxville Sightseeing has your upper level tickets along with roundtrip transportation to and from the game for just $120 per person. If looking to just catch a roundtrip ride, not a problem, folks can ride the chik-fil-a bowl bus for $60 per person roundtrip. Makes a great gift and what a better way to end the year then to watch the VOLS play in Atlanta.

Calling All Communities (Community Event)
Location: U.S. Cellular stores

U.S. Cellular is “Calling All Communities” once again to believe in something better for our schools. From now until Jan. 15, anyone 18 years or older can go to any U.S. Cellular store to get a code to vote online for their favorite school. There is no purchase necessary. The 10 schools that receive the most votes will receive $100,000 each to use any way they want. All public and private schools nationwide, kindergarten through high school, are eligible. Show your school spirit and vote!

Experience the fitness and fun of All Sports Camp, where campers explore a variety of sports and fitness opportunities that will keep them active and building healthy habits to last a lifetime. Instruction is taught at all skill levels while promoting self-confidence, balance, coordination, and teamwork.All Sports Camp is located at Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center (FSHFC). Members of FSHFC will pay $130 for the week. Non-members will pay $160 for the week. Discounts are available for families with more than one child enrolled. Camp is held Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (see dates below for registration). ETTAC takes used computers (Free Community Service)
Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: East Tennessee Technology Access Center

If you bought a new computer system during Tennessee’s tax free holiday and want to know where to drop off your old computer, the East Tennessee Technology Access Center will accept Pentium IV computers or better. All computers must be in good working condition. ETTAC is a regional nonprofit agency that helps people with disabilities. The staff adapts computers with specialized software and hardware that are then loaned to clients to enable them to learn, work and to become more productive. All donations are tax deductible. Computers can be dropped off at their Knoxville office located at 4918 North Broadway. You may also call (865) 219-0130 to possibly arrange to have it picked up, but we cannot guarantee in all cases that we can do this.

Benefit Concert for Second Harvest (Charity Fundraiser)

Location: Clayton Performing Arts Center at Pellissippi State Hardin Valley Campus

Deer Star Productions is proud to present a charity concert to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and their Christmas efforts to help those struggling with hunger. This event is sponsored by Bank East and Deer Star Productions. Nammy nominated Randy McGinnis and World renowned flute maker and player Danny Bigay will perform on the Native American flute. Dry Medicine Creek Drum will also sing and perform on the drums. All of the proceeds will go directly to Second Harvest. Tickets are 20 dollars for regular admission and 15 dollars for students. If you would like to reserve your tickets, please call (865) 225-2077. Leave your name, number and number of tickets to be placed at will call. Come spend an evening relaxing, listening to Native American music and helping Second Harvest fulfill their need to provide Christmas dinner to families in East Tennessee who are not as fortunate.
