The future of one of Vanderbilt's top returning defensive linemen is up in the air, head coach James Franklin said Tuesday.
Defensive tackle Jared Morse is no longer a part of the Commodores football team after violating an unspecified team rule. Not only that, but Morse is no longer enrolled in school as well.
While hoping for a return, Franklin did not exactly sound optimistic that's how things will ultimately shake out.
"We're hoping that Jared will have a chance to come back. We'll see," the coach said according to The Tennessean. "It's out of our hands and we'll see how those things play out. But as of right now, we're going on. We're moving on as if he's not here."
Last season, Morse started six of the 13 games in which he played. He finished fifth on the team with nine tackles for loss.
