Thanks to everyone who donated to WIVK’s Tony & Kris for the 2020 Rivalry Food Drive for Second Harvest Food Bank! Farragut High School and Bearden High School stepped up to compete in a food drive to collect the most food for Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.
Help Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee provide Thanksgiving Baskets to families in need in our community!
If you are a student at these schools or a parent of a student in these schools, look through your cupboards and pantries and start gathering items to donate, or take the list to the grocery store and add a few items to your shopping cart to donate! You can print the list below!
For two weeks, students will donate food items at each school, or make donations online that will convert to pounds. The total weight will be added up at the end and we will find out which school wins the Rivalry Food Drive!
COLLECTION DATES: OCTOBER 12 – 23
Most needed items: Boxed Stuffing, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Rice, Canned Yams, Canned Vegetables, Canned Beans, Canned Meat, Canned Pumpkin, Canned Cranberry Sauce
For students doing virtual learning, there will be a link on the website for them to make a monetary donation that is converted into weight and added to the schools’ total.
$1.00 = 3 meals
1 meal = 1.2 pounds
3 meals = 3.6 pounds
