The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is listed as the number one trending destination by Tripadvisor. Pigeon Forge ranked number 4 on the list behind St. Augustine, Florida and Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
In contrast, Outforia lists the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as the as the third most Danger Park in their ranking. The Grand Canyon and Yosemite took first and second place on their list.
The most common cause of death in the Smokies wasn’t from falls, drowning or wild animal attacks, but actually, motor vehicle crashes, with 37 in the last ten years. They report 92 total deaths in the park in the past decade. 15 of those were medical or natural deaths.
The Smokies had the most visitors than any other park on their list with almost thirteen million in the past decade. That’s over six million more visitors than the Grand Canyon.
