One Person is Dead Following a Crash on the Spur

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Rangers says one person is dead following a single vehicle crash on the Spur.

Park Rangers responded to the crash just after 3 a.m. yesterday (Sunday) morning. 25 year-old Gian Spagnolo of Venezuela, was traveling south on the Spur when he lost control of his 2008 Nissan sedan near Caney Creek Road. He veered off the roadway and collided into multiple trees. He was pronounced dead on the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle and speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident.

Spagnolo was currently living and working in Sevier County.
