Water Rescue Search in Morgan County Put on Hold for Water Conditions

Wartburg, TN (WOKI) UPDATE: A water rescue search for a missing Cumberland County man has been placed on hold due to dangerous water conditions near the Obed Wild and Scenic River in Morgan County.

National Park Service officials say the 55 year-old man went missing on Monday and was last seen wading in Daddy’s Creek near Devil’s Breakfast Table bridge.

Multiple agencies have been assisting the Park Service in its search. Officials with Morgan County EMA say poor conditions and the speed of the water in the area are currently unsafe for rescuers.

ORIGINAL STORY: A search is underway for a missing Cumberland County man near the Obed Wild and Scenic River in Morgan County.

The 55 year-old man went missing on Monday and was last seen wading in Daddy’s Creek near Devil’s Breakfast Table bridge.

The National Park Service says a search has begun with the assistance of a handful of other agencies including the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
