Three big NFL decisions were potential speed bumps in the fast lane to big-time expectations for Tennessee football in 2016 if they didn’t go the Vols way.
So much for that.
Redshirt sophomore Alvin Kamara joined Cameron Sutton and Jalen Reeves-Maybin in deciding to return to the University of Tennessee rather than enter the 2016 NFL Draft.
In his first season with the Vols, Kamara rushed for 698 yards (6.5 per carry) and 7 rushing touchdowns. He was 2nd on the team in receptions with 34 for 291 yards and 3 receiving TDs. He also had 8 punt returns for 100 yards including one return TD. He was even 1-for-1 passing for 24 yards.
