Here’s an updated list of University of Tennessee players in the National Football League after the last 21 rookie minicamps were completed.
Now all 32 teams have held rookie minicamps. Rosters are still fluid with teams announcing the signing of undrafted free agents and tryout players at their own pace. NFL rosters can be kept at up to 90 players until final preseason cuts August 31, 2019.
I’ve included some notes, jersey numbers, unofficial depth chart positions and camp dates for each team so you can follow along for news on each player. You will also see the list of players with local ties to the Knoxville area or didn’t end their college careers at UT.

Latest Tennessee Vols NFL Notes
-Currently 34 U. of Tennessee players on NFL teams
-3 VFL rookies are in the NFL right now (none are draft picks)
-Pittsburgh has the most UT players with 4
-DL & DB are the largest positions of VFLs in the league right now with 5
-21 of the 32 teams have a UT player
-There are 11 players that are either one-time Vols or are Knoxville area players that did not attend UT
-LB Quart’e Sapp and NT Alexis Johnson were not signed by the Titans
-TE Ethan Wolf received a tryout with the Carolina Panthers and has now signed with the team
-LB Colton Jumper was invited back to tryout with the Saints and has now signed with the team
-QB Keller Chryst tried out with the Colts two weeks ago then last week with the Steelers but was not signed
-DE Kendal Vickers got a tryout with the Eagles but was not signed to the roster
-DB Micah Abernathy was signed by the Vikings to their roster last week
-DT Shy Tuttle was signed by the Saints to their roster
-DE Kyle Phillips was signed by the Jets to their roster
-TE Alex Ellis received a tryout with the Giants but was not signed
-One-time Vols TE Daniel Helm out of Duke was signed to the roster by the Chargers
-One-time Vols WR Preston Williams and DE Dewayne Hendrix were signed by the Dolphins
-One-time Vols CB D’Andre Payne out of Iowa St was signed by the Titans
-Veteran TE Lee Smith out of Marshall, another one-time Vol, signed with the Bills, a team he used to play for
-One-time Vols OL Venzell Boulware out of Miami received a tryout with the Broncos but was not signed
