Week five of the NFL season saw a pair of VFLs make their first career starts.

For the San Francisco 49ers, Emmanuel Moseley earned his first career start on Monday Night Football. Moseley grabbed the first pass break-up of his career, thwarting a pass in the endzone. The 49ers defeated the Browns 31-3.

Also making his first career start was A.J. Johnson for the Denver Broncos. Johnson collected a career-high nine tackles, one tackle for loss, an interception and defended two passes in the Broncos’ 20-13 win against the San Diego Chargers.

Alvin Kamara contributed in literally every way possible for the New Orleans Saints offensively. He had 62 yards rushing, seven receptions for 42 yards and completed a 13-yard pass. He totaled 117 yards of offense in the Saints’ 31-34 win versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Derek Barnett collected a pair of tackles, a sack and a tackle-for-loss in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 31-6 win against the New York Jets, while Michael Palardy had five punts for 238 yards, pinning the Jacksonville Jaguars inside their 20-yard line three times en route to a 34-27 Carolina Panthers win.
