Vols in the NFL – Week 15 Update

Marquez Callaway stood out in prime time, notching his first 100-yard game in the NFL on Sunday Night Football highlighting the 15th week of NFL action for former Tennessee Volunteers.

Callaway’s career-night was all the New Orleans Saints needed on offense, defeating the Buccaneers, 9-0, in Tampa Bay. Shy Tuttle contributed a pair of tackles and a pass breakup in the shutout. Tuttle and the Saints defense shutout quarterback Tom Brady for the first time in over 15 years.

Jauan Jennings continued his hot streak for San Francisco, snaring his third touchdown of the season from five yards out. He finished with three receptions for 28 yards, while the 49ers defeated Atlanta, 31-13. His teammates are taking notice of his recent production, “when the ball is thrown his way, dude makes plays,” said San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. “We’re gaining a lot of confidence in Jauan,” 49ers head coach, Kyle Shanahan said.

Cameron Sutton helped the Steelers to a strong defensive performance, forcing a fumble, one of four turnovers caused by Pittsburgh’s defense. It was his first fumble forced this season and helped propel the Steelers back into playoff contention in the AFC.

Michael Palardy has continued to blast away punts in South Florida. This week he had three punts for 159 yards, an average of 53 yards per punt. Palardy ranks fifth in the league in total punt yardage and has played a major factor in the special teams success of the Dolphins in their current six-game win streak.

Check back later this evening, as the selections for the 2022 Pro Bowl will be released at 8 p.m. ET. Next week the Vols will be inside the home of the Tennessee Titans, Nissan Stadium, in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl on Dec. 30. Tickets are still available for purchase here.
