KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — A Knox County Grand Jury has indicted a man accused in a deadly shooting at a South Knox County gas station earlier this year.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Christopher Greer has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the death of Jackie Ogle.
The shooting happened March 6 at the Exxon gas station in the 8000 block of Chapman Highway.
Investigators said a witness told deputies that Greer shot Ogle multiple times before leaving the scene in a truck. Ogle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities later took Greer into custody following a brief standoff.
The indictment moves the case forward in Knox County Criminal Court as prosecutors pursue the first-degree murder charge.
