SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – One of the bald eagles that escaped from Dollywood last month after a storm damaged an aviary has had multiple sightings in Sevier County.
The American Eagle Foundation said on Sunday there have been sightings of Rockland in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg areas that its team is following up on.
AEF said anyone who spots Rockland, who has an orange band with the letters SK on it, should not approach or try to feed him and instead call 865-429-0157 with any information.
This comes a day after another one of the missing eagles, Caesar, was safely recovered.
A third eagle, Wesley, remains missing, but AEF said Wednesday there had been sightings of him. He has a black band on his leg.
On April 19, Dollywood said an overnight storm caused a tree near Eagle Mountain Sanctuary to be uprooted, compromising the aviary. While 26 eagles were relocated to the AEF headquarters in Kodak, three eagles escaped.
AEF said its team is monitoring messages 24/7 as the search continues.
