Knoxville, TN (WOKI) – Motorists in North Knox County should prepare for overnight ramp closures along Interstate 75 as road work gets underway.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation says the on- and off-ramps at Raccoon Valley Road (Exit 117) will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, to allow crews to complete milling and paving work.
According to TDOT, southbound ramps will be closed first, followed by the northbound ramps. All work is expected to be finished and ramps reopened by 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 27.
Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays and are urged to exercise caution as construction crews will be present.
Officials also encourage motorists to plan ahead by checking traffic conditions before traveling. TDOT’s SmartWay system and the 511 hotline are available for up-to-date information on road conditions and construction activity.
Drivers are reminded to stay alert and avoid distractions, including texting or using a cell phone while driving.
