HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. (WOKI)– The northbound exit ramp at Exit 12 in Morristown was closed Tuesday morning following a tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 81.
The fire was reported near Mile Marker 12, according to traffic officials. The northbound off-ramp at Exit 12 was closed while emergency crews responded to the scene, and the right shoulder remained blocked.
Officials reported no major traffic delays at the time of the incident.
Authorities also said the tractor-trailer was transporting live crabs. No information was immediately available regarding injuries or the cause of the fire.
Motorists traveling through the area were advised to use caution and expect emergency personnel on scene.
As of 11:51 a.m., TDOT’s Smartway Camera shows the exit ramp is still closed.
