JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — A Jefferson County man is arrested after authorities say he shot another man during an incident.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 1000 block of Meadow Wood Circle Saturday night following reports of a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.
The victim was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the victim remains in stable condition.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
As a result of the investigation, authorities arrested 44-year-old Charles Allen Widby.
Widby has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon
No additional details about what led to the shooting have been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
