KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) – Community members are being asked to help fill a school bus with supplies for Knox County students and teachers during the annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive this weekend.
The event, hosted by the Partners in Education Foundation and presented by First Horizon, is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sam’s Club, 8435 Walbrook Drive in Knoxville.
Organizers are encouraging residents to donate new school supplies to help students and educators prepare for the upcoming school year.
The event will feature a variety of special guests and activities, including a live remote broadcast by 99.1 The Sports Animal, appearances by VFLs (Vols for Life) and participation by University of Tennessee football and basketball student-athletes.
Foundation leaders said the goal is to ensure local classrooms have the supplies students need to succeed while easing some of the financial burden on teachers and families.
Organizers noted that many classrooms begin each school year without adequate supplies, creating challenges for both educators and students.
The Stuff the Bus campaign gives community members a direct way to support local schools by donating items such as notebooks, pencils, markers, folders, tissues, backpacks and other classroom essentials.
Supporting Local Education
The Partners in Education Foundation works to strengthen educational opportunities for Knox County students by connecting schools with community resources and support.
One of the foundation’s signature programs is the Teacher Supply Depot, which helps provide educators with needed classroom materials and reduce out-of-pocket expenses.
Officials say every donation collected during Stuff the Bus will remain in the community and directly benefit Knox County schools.
Residents interested in supporting the effort can drop off new school supplies throughout the event on July 25.
