KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — Knoxville Police Department investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman found inside a vehicle at Suttree Landing Park in South Knoxville.
According to KPD, officers were called to the park in the South Knoxville/Foggy Bottom area at approximately 7 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report involving a woman in a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found the woman dead inside the vehicle.
Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play at the scene. However, investigators are continuing to gather information as they work to determine exactly what happened.
Authorities have not released the woman’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
The woman’s body was transported to the Regional Forensic Center, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause and manner of death.
Officials emphasized that the investigation remains in its early stages. Additional details, including findings from the autopsy, are expected to help investigators better understand the circumstances surrounding the death.
