KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) — The John T. O’Connor Senior Center is inviting pet lovers, seniors, and community members to celebrate Halloween at its 2nd Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest and Parade on Friday, October 23, 2026.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the O’Connor Senior Center, located at 611 Winona Street in Knoxville.
Organizers say the family-friendly event will feature an entertaining parade of pets and owners dressed in creative Halloween costumes. Participants will compete for prizes in a variety of costume categories, showcasing everything from spooky and scary creations to funny, imaginative, and adorable outfits.
The annual celebration is designed to bring together older adults, pet owners, and members of the community for an afternoon of fun and fellowship while embracing the Halloween spirit.
“I’m not really a dog person, but this is a paws-a-tively good time,” said Debbie K.
Event organizers expect plenty of colorful costumes, festive decorations, and photo opportunities as pets and their owners take center stage during the costume contest and parade.
Media representatives are invited to attend and capture the event’s highlights, including costumed pets, prize presentations, and community participation.
In addition to providing entertainment, proceeds from the event will help support the ongoing operations and programs of the O’Connor Senior Center, which serves older adults throughout the Knoxville area.
