Abused Dog Found in Knoxville Heads to ‘Furever’ Home, Shelter Says

Knoxville, TN (WOKI) A good news update to a story involving an animal cruelty case in Knoxville.

A dog Knoxville police say was abused before being rescued is headed to its “furever” home.

Officials with Young-Williams Animal Center say they received an outpouring of love from all over the country for the “sweet, brave girl” which was found on Emerald Avenue on Monday.

Young-Williams officials also thanked those who rescued the animal. “Thank you to our Animal Services team for responding and reaching this girl with love.”

Another dog, sister to the one now adopted, was found dead on Emerald Avenue; police say they are investigating the death as an abuse case since the dog was found with a bag over its head.

Those who know something about the case are asked to call East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at 865-215-7165.
