Heather Harrington hails from Pasadena, Texas, the home of the World Famous Mickey Gilley’s Bar and the movie Urban Cowboy. Heather moved to Knoxville to play volleyball for the University of Tennessee where she was a part of SEC Championship teams and the program’s only Final Four appearance.

Heather comes to WIVK after spending 15 years talking Tennessee sports on The Sports Animal. The reformed sports junkie has always loved country music, growing up listening to the King of Texas, George Strait, the dynamic duo of Brooks and Dunn and other favorites like Joe Diffie.

When Heather isn’t on the radio she spends her time at home with her husband, two little boys, two dogs and 23 chickens. She loves being outside and enjoying everything from the lakes to the mountains that living in East Tennessee has to offer.

She is an avid gardener and one of those millennials who learned to can her own tomato sauce, pesto and fig jelly during covid. She loves to cook and a perfect date night for her and her husband is to sit out by the fire pit with a bottle of red wine and some bluegrass on the radio.

Favorite artist: Chris Stapleton

Favorite charities: Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, Zoo Knoxville

Favorite guilty pleasure: a good hamburger and fries

Favorite sport: NFL and college football

Favorite color: Orange, of course
