KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – The charges against a City of Knoxville police officer are dismissed.
A Sevier County Judge dismissed the charges against Adam Barnett, who was arrested in Sevier County back in December 2025 and charged with aggravated domestic assault on May 1st.
SCSO took him into custody after a “domestic altercation” involving a family member while he was off duty.
Barnett joined KPD in 2011 and worked as a patrol officer in the East District of Knoxville.
KPD’s Office of Professional Standards is conducting an internal investigation which is not complete.
Barnett remains reassigned with his police powers suspended until the internal investigation is finished.
