Athens, TN (WOKI/WVLT) – Athens police have arrested a man accused of shooting and injuring a woman.
Officers say they were called to a Fisher Street home yesterday (Sunday), where they found a 36-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police say 51-year-old Steven Wilkerson Junior then barricaded himself inside the home but was taken into custody without incident.
He now faces charges including attempted first-degree murder and weapons violations.
