KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – A multi-agency effort led to the arrest of a wanted suspect after a camera alert helped police track him down in Kingston.
According to the Kingston Police Department, officers received a FLOCK camera alert around 3:57 p.m. on May 20 for a white Nissan van. The alert indicated the driver was wanted on felony warrants out of North Carolina.
Officers later located the vehicle at the Rocky Top business on West Race Street, where they identified and arrested 26-year-old Elvis Ibarguen Salazar of Colombia.
Police say the arrest was carried out with assistance from the Roane County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Authorities also seized the van and multiple packages found inside.
Investigators believe Salazar may be connected to several thefts and break-ins across Tennessee and North Carolina and could have ties to a larger criminal organization. Officers also confirmed he had active felony warrants in Williamson County, Tennessee.
The investigation remains ongoing.
