Anderson County, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – A portion of State Route 116 in Anderson County is shut down after heavy rainfall caused part of the roadway to wash away Saturday morning.
According to Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson Mark Nagi, the damage occurred near the community of Petros following storms that moved through East Tennessee.
TDOT crews began working to repair the roadway and are expected to continue efforts throughout the day. Officials estimate repairs could take a day or two, depending on weather conditions.
