Knoxville, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department is renewing its call for information in an unsolved 2019 homicide.
Investigators say 20-year-old Nahimana Zacharia was shot on June 9, 2019, in the parking lot of the Sunset Lounge. Officers responded to the scene around 2:45 p.m., and Zacharia was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he later died.
Detectives now believe Zacharia may not have been the intended target of the shooting and say multiple people could have been involved.
As part of the ongoing investigation, KPD says they have previously sought individuals known by the names “Chicken Leg” and someone using “GBeechie” in a Facebook profile, but those leads have not resulted in an arrest.
