Loudon County, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – A motorcycle crash in Loudon County sent one person to the hospital in critical condition and prompted the closure of a roadway Saturday evening, according to the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency crews responded to the crash near the 30000 block of Pond Creek Road, where authorities said two patients were involved.
The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office said one of the victims suffered critical injuries and was transported by UT Lifestar helicopter to a regional hospital for treatment.
The condition of the second patient was not immediately released.

Officials said Pond Creek Road was closed as first responders worked the scene and investigators began examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The sheriff’s office estimated the roadway would remain closed for approximately another hour Saturday evening while emergency personnel completed their work.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, and no information was immediately available regarding what may have caused the crash.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol and other responding agencies continue to investigate.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the roadway reopens.
