PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — Dollywood has temporarily closed its newest attraction, NightFlight Expedition, while the ride’s manufacturer performs additional adjustments.
In a notice posted to the park’s social media story, Dollywood said the manufacturer requested more time to refine the timing of the attraction’s turntable system before welcoming guests back aboard.
Park officials said the ride will remain closed through Sunday while the work is completed.
Dollywood encouraged visitors to watch its social media channels for future updates regarding the attraction’s reopening.
Ride Opened Earlier This Month
NightFlight Expedition officially opened to the public on August 19 and is being promoted as a first-of-its-kind ride experience.
The attraction is inspired by the forests, waterways, and natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains and was one of the most anticipated additions to the park this year.
No Safety Issue Announced
Dollywood has not indicated that the closure is related to a safety problem. Instead, the park said the manufacturer requested additional time to make adjustments to the operation of the ride’s turntable.
No timetable has been announced for reopening beyond the closure through Sunday.

NightFlight Expedition remains one of the newest features at the Pigeon Forge theme park and is expected to resume operation once the requested adjustments are completed.
