KNOXVILLE, TN (WOKI) – Knoxville Police are actively searching for a man wanted in connection with a deadly stabbing outside a convenience store on North Broadway.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers were called to the Kenjo convenience store at 1704 North Broadway around 6 a.m. Sunday, October 4, after reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a man outside the business suffering from stab wounds.
Despite lifesaving efforts by first responders, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators with the KPD Homicide Unit quickly identified 41-year-old Corey Huff as the suspect and have obtained a first-degree murder charge against him.
Police say Huff fled the scene in a red 2005 Chevrolet Silverado bearing Tennessee license plate 672BSFG. Detectives believe he may have been involved in a hit-and-run crash in the area of Interstate 40 West and Interstate 275 in West Knoxville shortly after the stabbing. Authorities say he then continued westbound on I-40.

The circumstances leading to the stabbing remain under investigation. Detectives have not yet determined whether Huff and the victim knew one another prior to the incident.
Police are warning the public not to approach Huff if he is located.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
The investigation remains active, and additional details are expected as detectives continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
