KNOXVILLE, TN (WOKI / TWRA) – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is investigating a fatal boating incident that occurred on Fort Loudoun Lake on Friday, September 12, 2025.
At approximately 11:18 a.m., TWRA dispatch received a call reporting a possible drowning near the mouth of George’s Creek. Wildlife officers responded to the scene and found a victim floating face down in the water near an unmanned vessel that was circling nearby.
The Blount County Rescue Squad recovered the victim from the water, while TWRA officers were able to bring the vessel—a Ranger bass boat—under control and stop it.
The victim has been identified as Terry Alexander, 63, of Maryville. He was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, where he was pronounced deceased.
This marks the 19th boating-related fatality on Tennessee’s waterways in 2025. The incident remains under investigation by TWRA.
