Knox County, TN – (WOKI) – Firefighters responded to an early morning house fire in North Knox County that was complicated by limited water access.
According to Rural Metro Fire, crews were called to the 8200 block of Coppock Road just before 7:00 a.m. on a reported structure fire. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the driveway side of the home.
Fire crews were able to quickly knock down the bulk of the fire. However, officials say the response was made more difficult by a lack of nearby water infrastructure. The closest fire hydrant was located approximately one mile away, forcing crews to rely on water tankers to shuttle water to the scene until the fire was fully extinguished.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire. Authorities report no injuries and no pets were lost.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
