NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) — As early voting approaches, Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett is encouraging registered voters to take part in the state’s Honor Vote program, a tribute recognizing U.S. veterans and active-duty service members.
Through the program, Tennesseans can dedicate their vote to someone who has served or is currently serving in the military. This election cycle, participants will receive a limited-edition commemorative Honor Vote button celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
“At a time when our freedoms are on full display, the Honor Vote program offers Tennesseans a meaningful way to recognize those who defend them,” Hargett said. “Casting a ballot in someone’s honor is a simple yet powerful way to express our gratitude.”
Participants will also be included on the official Tennessee Honor Vote List and receive an informational guide about the program. State officials encourage voters to share tributes on social media using #GoVoteTN and #TNHonorVote.
Key election dates for Tennessee voters include:
- Voter Registration Deadline: July 7, 2026
- Early Voting: July 17 through August 1, 2026
- Election Day: August 6, 2026
