SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving a utility terrain vehicle and a train in Scott County.
According to a preliminary report from THP, the crash happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday near Helenwood, off Highway 27.
Troopers say the driver of the UTV, identified as 52-year-old Ronnie Lloyd, failed to stop at a railroad crossing and collided with a moving train.
Investigators said Lloyd was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the circumstances surrounding the collision. The crash remains under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
