KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WOKI) — Two people were taken into custody Tuesday after the Knox County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in West Knox County as part of an ongoing investigation into a reckless endangerment and shooting into an occupied dwelling case.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, investigators with the Major Crimes Unit, assisted by the Narcotics Unit, SWAT Team and Patrol Division, served the warrant at a home on Ladbrook Lane.
Authorities said the residence was safely secured and two suspects were arrested without incident.
Those arrested were identified as:
- Derrick Mulkey, 38
- Marti Cheyanne McGhee, 29
Investigators have filed several charges, including:
- Maintaining a Dwelling for Drug Use
- Sale and Delivery of Schedule II Narcotics
- Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The sheriff’s office said additional charges, including Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon and Destruction of Evidence, are pending as the investigation continues.
During the execution of the search warrant, detectives reportedly seized multiple types of ammunition, narcotics and drug paraphernalia from the residence.
The search was connected to an ongoing investigation involving allegations of reckless endangerment and shots fired into an occupied dwelling.
Officials said the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit will continue leading the investigation. Authorities indicated the names of any additional individuals charged in connection with the case will be released at a later time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
