POWELL, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) — One of America’s most recognizable vehicles is headed to East Tennessee.
The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will make two appearances in the region later this month, giving fans an opportunity to see the iconic hot dog-shaped vehicle up close, take photos and meet its famous drivers.
The first stop is scheduled for Thursday, August 14, from noon until 4 p.m. at the Kroger located at 234 E. Emory Road in Powell.
The Wienermobile will then travel to Oak Ridge on Saturday, August 16, where it will be displayed from 10 a.m. until noon at the Kroger located at 1550 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
According to Kroger officials, the appearances are designed to provide a fun experience for families and longtime fans of the traveling attraction.
“The Wienermobile has been a source of joy for generations, and now it’s making its way to your local Kroger store,” a Kroger spokesperson said. “This is a fantastic opportunity for families and fans of all ages to connect with a true piece of Americana.”
Visitors at both events will have the opportunity to take pictures with the Wienermobile and meet the vehicle’s official drivers, commonly known as Hotdoggers. The ambassadors travel across the country promoting the Oscar Mayer brand and interacting with communities during public appearances.
The Wienermobile has been a fixture of American pop culture for decades and continues to draw crowds wherever it travels.
Both East Tennessee appearances are free and open to the public.
