Watch Luke Bryan’s “Pay It Forward Live” Concert

On April 16, Luke Bryan was the featured artist on Verizon’s Pay It Forward Live, a live-stream concert series that supports small businesses affected by COVID-19.

Over the course of the concert, Luke performed “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset,” “Strip It Down,” “Most People Are Good,” “Play It Again” and more as viewers were encouraged to support local businesses in their own communities by shopping online, buying gift cards, ordering meals and more. Verizon is also donating $10, up to $2.5 million, to support small businesses when the hashtag #PayitForwardLIVE is used.

“When I heard about the Pay It Forward program Verizon was doing to support local small businesses, I loved the idea of doing my part to help raise awareness for it,” says Luke. “These are the people who wake up every day living out their dreams and passions and bringing them into our communities. Let’s all continue to do right, support each other and . . . Pay It Forward.”

Morgan Wallen Stays True to His Small-Town Roots in New Song, “More Than My Hometown” [Listen]

Morgan Wallen Stays True to His Small-Town Roots in New Song, “More Than My Hometown” [Listen]

Morgan Wallen shared a brand-new song, “More Than My Hometown,” on April 17.

Co-penned by Morgan, Michael Hardy, Ernest Keith Smith and Ryan Vojtesak and produced by Joey Moi, “More Than My Hometown” will be included on Morgan’s upcoming sophomore album, which is expected to drop later this year.

The new tune features Morgan staying true to his small-town roots as he says goodbye to the girl: “I love you more than a California sunset / More than a beer when you ain’t 21 yet / More than a Sunday morning Lord / Turning some poor lost souls around, and Hallelujah bound / I love you more than the feeling when the bass hits the hook / When a guy gets the girl at the end of the book / But baby this might be the last time I get to lay you down / Cause I can’t love you more than my hometown.”

Morgan has been turning heads with his music, mullet and easygoing manner since bursting on the scene two years ago. The 26-year-old native of Sneedville, Tenn. (population 1,346) scored back-to-back No. 1 singles with “Up Down” (June 2018) and “Whiskey Glasses” (June 2019). His current single, “Chasin’ You,” moved into the Top 5 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week.

Loretta Lynn Releases Animated New Video for Cover of Patsy Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces” [Watch]

Loretta Lynn Releases Animated New Video for Cover of Patsy Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces” [Watch]

Loretta Lynn released an animated video for her new cover of Patsy Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces.” Created by director Aaron Ray, the video celebrates Loretta and Patsy’s friendship and features custom illustrations and animations.

Written by Hank Cochran and Harlan Howard, “I Fall to Pieces” was Patsy’s first No. 1 hit on the country charts in 1961. Before her death in a plane crash in 1963, Patsy was an established star who took up-and-comer Loretta under her wing to help her navigate the male-dominated world of country music.

“Friendship can help us during difficult times, like what we are all going through now,” says Loretta. “I wanted to share this song and video in honor of Patsy. She was my friend, mentor, my strength and I miss her to this day.”

Loretta’s new recording was released in celebration of her new book, Me & Patsy Kickin’ Up Dust (April 7), which was penned by Loretta and daughter Patsy Lynn Russell. According to a press release, the book is an “up-close-and-personal portrait of a friendship that defined a generation and changed country music indelibly–and a meditation on love, loss and legacy.”
