“At Home With Farm Aid” TV Special to Feature Live Performances by Willie Nelson, Neil Young & More

“At Home With Farm Aid” TV Special to Feature Live Performances by Willie Nelson, Neil Young & More

Farm Aid founders Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young, as well as board member Dave Matthews, will perform live from their homes and studios during an hour-long TV special, At Home With Farm Aid, on April 11.

The live concert, which will be hosted by Willie Nelson and sons Lukas and Micah, will benefit family farmers impacted by the effects of COVID-19.

“The coronavirus has disrupted our entire country and is a grave threat to all of us,” said Willie. “One of its many impacts is that it has helped us to better see the value of essential people like healthcare workers, grocery store clerks, delivery truck drivers, and farmers and ranchers. Farm Aid has worked for 35 years to build a family farm centered agricultural system, and we are here now to support farmers and ranchers in this crisis, without whom we could not eat. The time to build a resilient family farm food system is now!”

Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on the land. Farm Aid, which has raised more than $59 million to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers on the land.

AXS TV—as well as its social media platforms—will air At Home With Farm Aid on April 11 at 7 p.m. CT.

Listen to Jake Owen’s Soulful New Single, “Made for You”

Listen to Jake Owen’s Soulful New Single, “Made for You”

Jake Owen will try to score his ninth No. 1 single with the release of “Made for You.”

Penned by Benjy Davis, Joey Hyde and Neil Medley, “Made for You” is featured on Jake’s 2019 album, Greetings . . . From Jake, which has already spawned two No. 1 singles, “Homemade” and “I Was Jack (You Were Diane),” as well as Top 10 hit, “Down to the Honkytonk.”

The soulful new ballad finds Jake crooning the chorus: “Like a ship without a sea / Or a song without a melody / I don’t know where I’d be or what I’d do / ’Cause I was made for you.”

The tune was featured on ABC’s The Bachelorette in June 2019. It will be shipped to country radio on May 18.

“I couldn’t be more excited to announce that my 4th single off of my #GreetingsFromJake album will be ‘Made For You’  . . . this song has been so special to me and many others,” said Jake via Twitter. “I’m excited to finally hear it on the radio.”

Carly Pearce on Co-Writing “I Hope You’re Happy Now” With Luke Combs: “I’ll Forever Champion Him”

Carly Pearce on Co-Writing “I Hope You’re Happy Now” With Luke Combs: “I’ll Forever Champion Him”

Carly Pearce’s new duet with Lee Brice, “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” is No. 13 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week.

Penned by Carly, Luke Combs, Jonathan Singleton and Randy Montana, “I Hope You’re Happy Now” is featured on Carly’s self-titled sophomore album, which was released in February.

Carly recently sat down with Kix Brooks of American Country Countdown to talk about co-penning the tune with Luke Combs, just as his own 2016 debut single, “Hurricane,” was beginning to ascend into the stratosphere.

“We’re both ’90s country babies, so it was very fun and very inspiring,” says Carly. “I’d never written with another artist, and it was just like we were on the same wavelength that day. And, it’s so interesting because I had played a show with him right as ‘Hurricane’ was happening, so before he had what he has, I was like, ‘I want to write with you,’ and we kept that day—months later—and it was meant to be. And I’ll forever champion him because he’s just so talented.”

Carly and Lee recently dropped an acoustic version of “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” which you can listen to below.

Dustin Lynch Creates Blazing New Video for “Momma’s House” [Watch]

Dustin Lynch Creates Blazing New Video for “Momma’s House” [Watch]

Dustin Lynch dropped a blazing new video for his current single, “Momma’s House.” Directed by Mason Dixon, the new clip was filmed in Lafayette, Tennessee, which is approximately 60 miles northeast of Nashville.

The fiery tune, which was penned by Dylan Schneider, Michael Lotten, Rodney Clawson and Justin Wilson, is the third single from Dustin’s 2020 album, Tullahoma. The new project takes its name from Dustin’s Tennessee hometown, which is about 80 miles southeast of Nashville.

“Every song on Tullahoma, there’s a reason it’s there,” says Dustin. “A lot of that points back to the people who raised me, and growing up with a lifestyle where I could go outside and have fun, explore and try new things in the great outdoors. It’s kind of about being that kid and learning all those things. That’s my story, but I think we all can relate to the kid who’s discovering, the kid who’s figuring out love for the first time, all that good stuff.”

Russell Dickerson Drops Alluring New Video for “Love You Like I Used To” [Watch]

Russell Dickerson Drops Alluring New Video for “Love You Like I Used To” [Watch]

Russell Dickerson dropped a new video for his current single, “Love You Like I Used To.” The tune, which is the first sample of new music from Russell’s upcoming sophomore album, serves as a love letter to his wife of six years, Kailey.

“The beginning of this song is intentionally different from me,” says Russell. “It makes you think it is a breakup song, but it is really a lead up to how great loves evolve and get better over time. Like all of my songs, I’ve lived it. I started dating my wife 10 years ago, and it is true—I don’t love her like I used to, and I think a lot of people will be able to relate to this song. It’s a really special song that I’m crazy proud of!”

After topping the charts with “Yours” and “Blue Tacoma” in 2018, Russell scored his third No. 1 single with “Every Little Thing” in November 2019. All three of Russell’s No. 1 songs are featured on his 2017 debut album, Yours.

“The video is such a perfect visual for this song,” says Russell. “Love changes as it grows, you have to work on it, but it’s worth it—it gets better and better with time. We had a lot of fun shooting this video in both Palm Springs, California, and here in Nashville. It was the first time we’ve used actors and actresses in a video, which was a completely new and fun experience.”

Country Stars Remember John Prine, Including Miranda Lambert, Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Trisha Yearwood, Travis Tritt & More

Country Stars Remember John Prine, Including Miranda Lambert, Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Trisha Yearwood, Travis Tritt & More

A number of country artists paid tribute to John Prine, 73, who passed away on April 7 from COVID-19 complication. Miranda Lambert, Travis Tritt, Jason Isbell, Maren Morris, Margo Price, Kix Brooks, Charlie Daniels and many more shared their love on social media and via statements.

Jason Isbell: “We love you John.”

Margo Price:It hurts so bad to read the news. I am gutted. My hero is gone. My friend is gone. We’ll love you forever John Prine.”

Maggie Rose:I Love You So Much It Hurts Me – RIP John Prine . One of my favorite attributes of @JohnPrineMusic was his ability to make people laugh, but also deliver a heartfelt ballad. I’ve never been more grateful for your music Mr. Prine.”

Jack Ingram:This man. This gentle, brilliant, man. Under any circumstance, this is a blunt force punch to the solar plexus. All the words I keep typing then erasing are just swimming in my head. More like a panicked swimmer that feels like he may be drowning or like a fish out of water…that jumps back in and says “Hey, Fisherman! Quit frowning!” (That is just the only thing I can think of right now that would be close to a tribute to this man I admire greatly. I know it’s either not appropriate, not enough, too much of something… but it’s all I can think of. I wish I could hug my friend, Todd [Snider] right now.) John Prine is what any proper being would be proud to call an ultimate human. R.I.P.”

Trisha Yearwood:My heart is broken. Godspeed kind man. All my love and strength to your family.”

Chris Janson:Most every country singer has sang the lyrics, written by John Prine, at one time or another… Missin John. Prayers for the family.”

Lindsay Ell:We will always sing your songs…. RIP John Prine.”

Maren Morris: “Angel from Montgomery was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar when I was 12. This one hurts.”

Old Dominion:Thank you John Prine for your gift to the world.”

Kix Brooks:Damn it ! Have been holding my breath You could pull this off John ! Breaks my heart! Not just a genius songsmith, but one of the best guys ever- “you will see me tonight with an illegal smile”-I know you fought hard- anyone who loves a great song will live with your legacy-RIPJP.”

Ashley Monroe:There will never be another that even comes close. Fly high John Prine, you’ve always been an angel.”

Toby Keith:The great John Prine has passed away from the virus. He showed me how to “let it rip” when it comes to songwriting. There’s a huge hole in the music world tonight. John did it best. RIP -T”

Radney Foster:John Prine has left us for the stars. The world is smaller now. Godspeed, John.”

Travis Tritt:Such a tragic loss to the music world! One of the greatest songwriters and stylists any of us will ever know.”

The Oak Ridge Boys:Saddened tonight by the loss of legendary songwriter John Prine.”

Margo Prince: “My love is with the Prine family. We all mourn now. This is devastating. Absolutely devastating. A loss we can’t comprehend.”

Brothers Osborne:Rest easy, wordsmith. Forever you will live in your songs. Thank you for your infinite wisdom, subtle humor, and lyrical lessons. You will never be forgotten. @john_prine

Miranda Lambert:thank you for everything. One and only. #hellointhere #johnprine.”

Charlie Daniels:So sorry to hear about the passing of John Prine. Singer, performer and song writer extraordinaire. Rest In Peace Sir, you will be remembered and missed.”

Sheryl Crow:My heart hurts learning that John Prine has passed away. He is singing with the angels. You will be missed but your songs will live on.”

Keith Urban:The angel flys home. Rest in blessed peace John Prine. Love and prayers to all of your family and friends. -KU”

Chris Knight:I am very sorry and sad to hear about John Prine passing away. His influence on me was the reason I started playing and singing in the first place. I learned to play guitar in 1975 by listening to his records. I’m very grateful for what he gave us and grateful for the few times I got to hang out with him. He was a good and kind person, just like I thought he would be. I’m going to miss him.” ~ Chris Knight
