Kelsea Ballerini and Halsey have become a captivating tandem, as of late.
In addition to teaming up for the 70th episode of CMT Crossroads, which will air on March 25 at 9 p.m. CT., the cross-genre stars collaborated on a new song, “The Other Girl,” which is featured on Kelsea’s new self-titled album.
While Kelsea, 26, has scored five No. 1 hits on the country charts since dropping her debut album in 2015, Halsey, 25, has earned a handful on No. 1 songs on the pop charts since releasing her 2015 debut album, including “Him & I,” “Eastside” and more.
As Kelsea told Kix Brooks of American Country Countdown, collaborating with your friend makes “perfect sense.”
“We are [friends],” says Kelsea to Kix. “I’ve always wanted to do a CMT Crossroads—I love collaborating—but I always wanted to do it with someone that I was comfortable with. You’re doing nine songs with that person, so it’s like you really want to be able to connect to their music and just them as a person, and so Halsey and I have been friends for a couple of years now and, it made perfect sense to kick it off with Crossroads.”

Keith Urban—and dancing wife Nicole Kidman—returned to Instagram on March 23 to perform another 30-minute live concert dubbed Urban Underground.
Keith treated fans to a number of his tunes, including “Never Comin’ Down,” “You Gonna Fly,” “Somewhere in My Car,” “God Whispered Your Name” and more, as well as a cover of Kenny Rogers’ “The Gambler.”
During the performance, Keith noted that a new video for “God Whispered Your Name” will hit the airwaves “very, very soon.”
Jake Owen scored the eighth No. 1 single of his career as “Homemade” reached the top of both the Billboard Country Airplay chart and Mediabase chart this week.
The wistful single, which was penned by Bobby Pinson, Drew Parker, Jared Mullins and Ben Goldsmith, highlights many of the staples commonly associated with small-town living, including pickup trucks, dirt roads, sweet tea, collard greens and more.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The United States Basketball Writers Association announced Monday its women’s basketball All-America team, and Tennessee’s Rennia Davis was among those earning honorable mention.
Davis, a 6-foot-2 junior forward from Jacksonville, Fla., earned national distinction from the USBWA for the first time in her career, coming on the heels of being named AP All-America Honorable Mention last week and All-SEC First Team the week before.
Tennessee’s leading scorer and rebounder, Davis averaged career bests of 18.0 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this season, which are the sixth and seventh-best ever, respectively, by a UT junior. Her scoring average is the best by a Lady Vol since Candace Parker averaged 21.3 ppg. in 2007-08. Against ranked teams, Davis put up even better numbers, averaging 19.8 points per contest against those squads.
Davis connected on 46.9 percent of her attempts from the field and 80.2 percent from the free throw line, and she tallied a team-leading 34 three-pointers this season. Additionally, Davis was second on the team in steals (28) and third in assists (74).
The Ribault High School graduate recorded 11 double-doubles (tied for seventh most by a UT junior) and scored in double figures in 28 straight games. She posted 25 contests of 15+ points and had six games of 20 or more.
Among other honors in 2019-20, Davis made the Cheryl Miller Award Top 10, the John R. Wooden Top 20 and was a three-time SEC Player of the Week and a USBWA National Player of the Week on one occasion.
Davis was Tennessee’s only active returning starter from a year ago, when the Lady Vols placed 19-13 overall and finished eighth in the SEC at 7-9. This season, the UT standout helped her team improve to 21-10 overall and finish in a tie for third in the league at 10-6 during the first-season of the Kellie Harper era.

Tanya Tucker revealed the rescheduled dates for her 2020 CMT Next Women of Country Tour, which will resume in August. Originally scheduled dates in March, April, May and June were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
