Watch Miranda Lambert’s Stylish New “Bluebird” Video

Miranda Lambert dropped a stylish new video for her current single, “Bluebird,” on March 20 at 11:15 p.m. CT.

“Bluebird, which Miranda co-wrote with Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby, is featured on her seventh studio, Wildcard, which was released in November 2019. The new single is currently No. 29 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart after 13 weeks.

“This song is special,” says Miranda. “It’s got this hope to it. It’s got a darkness too, though, but it’s also hopeful. Life is going to give you lemons, period. If there wasn’t problems then we wouldn’t appreciate the great days, but going through those things and overcoming problems—whatever they are—makes us strong and appreciate the sun. You know, it’s like ten straight days of rain and then the sun comes out and you’re like, ‘I forgot how much I loved it.’ Since we wrote ‘Bluebird,’ I’ve been seeing bluebirds everywhere. And the bluebirds have been there, but I never saw them like I see them now. It kinda reminds me to open my eyes to what’s around me.”

Listen to Kelsea Ballerini’s Serene New Song, “Half of My Hometown,” Featuring Kenny Chesney

Listen to Kelsea Ballerini’s Serene New Song, “Half of My Hometown,” Featuring Kenny Chesney

Kelsea Ballerini dropped her third studio album, Kelsea, at midnight on March 20.

In addition to penning every track on the new project—much like her 2015 debut album, The First Time, and 2017 sophomore album, Unapologetically—Kelsea serves as the co-producer on her new album. Kelsea marks the first time Kelsea has assumed the role of co-producer on one of her albums.

“This is the first album that I’ve gotten to co-produce,” says Kelsea to Nash Country Daily. “I’ve written everything for all of my albums, but I really dug in a little bit more as a songwriter on this one. I’m really proud of it . . . I’m more invested in this album. Not only did I write it all, but I was part of bringing it to life in the studio, too, which is the full journey of the songs.”

Kelsea’s new 13-track offering includes two collaborations: “The Other Girl” featuring Halsey and “Half of My Hometown” featuring fellow east Tennessee native Kenny Chesney, which you can listen to below.

Jimmy’s blog: Would canceling spring practice be a big deal to SEC teams?

Jimmy’s blog: Would canceling spring practice be a big deal to SEC teams?

By Jimmy Hyams

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey left open the door for SEC teams to conduct spring football practice after April 15.

While Sankey said he is not “overly optimistic’’ that spring practice will return and the “window’s pretty narrow,’’ it could resume.

But what if it doesn’t? What if teams aren’t allowed to practice again until about Aug. 1?

Is that a big deal?

Probably not for established programs with established coaches and talented quarterbacks like Alabama or Florida.

But it might be a huge deal at Mississippi State, where new coach Mike Leach is trying to install an intricate passing game with a grad transfer quarterback, K.J. Costello.

Or at Ole Miss, where new coach Lane Kiffin must figure out the best way to utilize his 1,000-yard rushing quarterback John Rhys Plumlee.

Or at Missouri with new coach Eli Drinkwitz or Arkansas with new coach Sam Pittman.

It’s not just the fact those four schools have a first-year coach, but those coaches also have a new staff that hasn’t worked together and isn’t familiar with the personnel.

Spring football is the perfect playground to mesh and build chemistry. And find out what you’ve got.

New head coaches aren’t the only ones that might be impacted.

It might be a big deal at Georgia, which is breaking in Wake Forest quarterback transfer Jamie Newman, who is replacing the highly successful Jake Fromm.

It might be a big deal at Auburn, which has a new offensive coordinator, or at LSU, which has a new quarterback. Or Vanderbilt, which has two new coordinators.

And it might be a big deal at Tennessee. The Vols would love to know what they’ve got in five-star freshman quarterback Harrison Bailey.

And coach Jeremy Pruitt would certainly like to get a look at the linebackers replacing Daniel Bituli and Darrell Taylor, and the safety replacing Nigel Warrior, and the receivers replacing Jauan Jennings and Marquez Callaway.

And what is the best position for Cade Mays, the Georgia transfer who could play left tackle or right guard anywhere else on the line?

Perhaps the NCAA will adjust its calendar and allow teams to start a week or two early in the summer to prepare for the season.

But you can bet the majority of SEC football coaches would love to get in two or three more weeks of spring ball before the summer.

That could give them a better idea of what they might have in the fall.

Tyler Hubbard & Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line Commit $1,000 to 117 FGL House Employees

Tyler Hubbard & Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line Commit $1,000 to 117 FGL House Employees

Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line are following the lead set by Dierks Bentley, who committed $1,000 to each of the 90 hourly employees at his Whiskey Row restaurant in downtown Nashville on March 17.

Tyler and Brian have committed $1,000 to each of the 117 employees at their FGL House restaurant in downtown Nashville.

Tyler and Brian made the announcement via Twitter on March 17, stating: “@FGLHouse would be nothing without our amazing staff. We’re so thankful for all 117 of you and we hope this helps out while the bar and restaurant is closed. We’ve been blessed by y’all and we are excited to follow@DierksBentley lead here and #giveback. Much love and gratitude.”

On March 15, 2020, at 2:45 p.m., Nashville Mayor John Cooper announced the closure of bars throughout Davidson Country—including downtown’s famed Lower Broadway district—in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency.

FGL’s four-story attraction at 122 3rd Ave South features multiple bars, the largest “Cruise” rooftop in Nashville and a basement-level lounge with a baby grand piano. The menu features fried oysters, chicken lollipops, horseradish salmon, burgers and salads, as well as craft beers and signature cocktails made with FGL’s Old Camp Whiskey.

A Guy Named Luke Stands in the Way of Luke Combs’ Chart Greatness

A Guy Named Luke Stands in the Way of Luke Combs’ Chart Greatness

Below is a self-quarantined update to an article I penned in January.

Since releasing his sophomore album, What You See Is What You Get, in November 2019, Luke Combs has prevented himself from breaking his all-time Billboard chart record.

In late October 2019, Luke’s 2017 debut album, This One’s for You, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for the 50th week, tying him with Shania Twain’s Come On Over for the all-time record of most weeks at No. 1.

Since dropping in November, Luke’s sophomore album has spent 14 out of 18 weeks at No. 1, including this week.

No. 2 on the chart during nine of those 14 weeks? Luke’s This One’s for You.

In theory, if Luke scrubbed his sophomore album from streaming services for one week, his debut album would get the bump to No. 1, thus breaking his tie with Shania.

Of course, that’s not going to happen. It’s just food for thought while you self-quarantine. A more likely scenario would be that This One’s for You organically reaches No. 1 again…or Shania’s legion of fans re-buy Come On Over to put her back in sole possession of the crown…or Luke and Shania live happily ever after as king and queen.
