Watch Brad Paisley Put a Comedic Twist on “She’s Everything” & Perform “Last Time for Everything” on “Seth Meyers”

Brad Paisley stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers last night (Aug. 2) to perform his current single, “Last Time for Everything,” and chat about his upcoming Netflix comedy special, Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo, which drops on Aug. 15.

Before he performed “Last Time for Everything,” Brad gave fans a taste of what to expect from his comedy special by putting a comedic twist on his 2006 No. 1 single, “She’s Everything.”

“She’s a yellow pair of running shoes, a hole-y pair of jeans, she looks great in cheap sunglasses, she a passive aggressive little thing,” Brad sang as he strummed the guitar. “She’s almost everything I ever wanted, almost everything I need . . . ”

Mike Fisher Retires From the NHL After 17 Seasons . . . Carrie Underwood Is Excited to Have Him “Home a Lot More”

Mike Fisher, who married Carrie Underwood in 2010, has retired from the NHL after 17 season, according to The Tennessean.

Mike, 37, was the team captain for the Nashville Predators in 2017, leading them to the Stanley Cup Final. Mike played the last seven seasons in Nashville after being traded by the Ottawa Senators in 2010.

“I approached this season with the mindset that it could be my last, and now that it’s past, I’m looking forward to a future that includes a lot more time with my family,” Mike said to The Tennessean. “Things change when you have kids and you have a family. They’ve supported me without question, and now it’s my turn to return the favor.”

Mike and Carrie had their first child, Isaiah, in 2015.

Carrie posted a pic of Mike on Instagram this morning (Aug. 3) with the caption: “Captain @mfisher1212 I sure am going to miss watching you play and cheering you on with the rest of Smashville, but I so look forward to seeing what God has in store for you in this next chapter of your life. You’ve given your teammates and the game your all for so many years…you’ve worked so hard and made us all so proud! Isaiah and I love you so much and are so excited to be able to have you home a lot more…We can’t wait to cheer on the @predsnhl WITH you in the stands! #ThankYouSmashville #PredsFansForLife.”

Watch Keith Urban Team With Lauren Alaina for a Performance of “We Were Us”

Keith Urban loves to collaborate with other artists. “The Fighter,” his duet with Carrie Underwood, is the No. 1 song on the Mediabase chart this week.

In 2013, Keith teamed with Miranda Lambert to sing “We Were Us,” saying, “[Miranda] was the first artist that popped into my head. She opened some shows for us a few years ago and we would do a song together each night, and I always loved how our voices blended together.”

Last week (July 26) at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles, Calif., Keith invited special guest Lauren Alaina onstage during his set to treat fans to a performance of “We Were Us.”

“We don’t get to do this song . . . uh . . . ever in our set,” Keith said, “but I heard Lauren sing it, and I’m like, ‘You gotta come up and sing this song with me.’”

And Lauren did.

Loretta Lynn’s Country Music Hall of Fame Exhibit to Open Aug. 25

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will explore the life and career of Loretta Lynn in its new exhibit, Loretta Lynn: Blue Kentucky Girl, which opens Aug. 25 and runs through Aug. 5, 2018.

“I am so excited for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s exhibit to open this month,” said Loretta. “It’s gonna show off my 50-some-odd years in country music, and I’m so proud to share my life and music with the museum. Y’all come see us.”

Loretta suffered a stroke in May and is currently recovering.

Loretta Lynn: Blue Kentucky Girl exhibition highlights include:

  • Loretta’s original handwritten manuscript for her chart-topping 1970 hit, “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”
  • The 1956 model 99 Singer sewing machine Loretta used to make her own stage clothes very early in her career.
  • American DR-332 ribbon microphone used by Loretta at her first recording session in Western Recorders Studio, Los Angeles, February 1960. She cut her first single, “I’m a Honky Tonk Girl,” and three more original songs at the session.
  • Red-and-white polka-dot dress with sequins and silver-cord trim, made by Loretta when she was 14. Sissy Spacek wore the dress when she portrayed Loretta in the film, Coal Miner’s Daughter.
  • Presidential Medal of Freedom presented to Loretta by President Obama in 2013.
  • Green chiffon Lillie Rubin gown worn by Loretta at the 1972 CMA Awards, where she was named Entertainer of the Year.
  • 1956 Gibson J-50, used extensively by Loretta in performance and for songwriting. It was given to her in 1961 by her husband, Doolittle “Mooney” Lynn, who made the Formica pick guard.
  • Red dress embellished with beads and sequins, worn by Loretta on the cover of her 1968 album, Fist City.

In addition to Loretta’s new showcase, an exhibit on Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will open in November.

Nice Guy Charles Esten Surprises Cancer Survivor With VIP Experience to “Nashville” Summer Tour

Charles Esten is one of country music’s nicest dudes . . . and he is constantly demonstrating it without personal fanfare.

Here’s a story we caught wind of via the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society—not Charles’ PR team.

(From left) Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Caitlin Hensley and Charles Esten

As a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Random Acts of Light Campaign—an initiative created where celebrities surprise people affected by blood cancers with special experiences—Charles surprised acute lymphoblastic leukemia survivor Caitlin Hensley, 26, with tickets to the Nashville Tour in Dayton, Ohio, over the weekend. Caitlin, who is a Nashville super fan, got the full VIP experience, which included early entry, a meet-and-greet, photos, autographs and more.

After Charles surprised Caitlin with tickets to the show, she got to meet members of the Nashville cast, including Jonathan Jackson and Chris Carmack.

Nice work, guys.

George Strait Celebrates 25-Year Anniversary of “Pure Country” With Vinyl Edition & Special Concerts

George Strait Celebrates 25-Year Anniversary of “Pure Country” With Vinyl Edition & Special Concerts

George Strait will celebrate the 25-year anniversary of Pure Country by releasing the soundtrack on vinyl for the first time on Sept. 15. In addition, George will spotlight the soundtrack during back-to-back concerts at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sept. 1 and 2.

Pure Country, released in 1992, marked George’s first starring role in a major film. George played the role of Dusty Chandler, a disillusioned country singer who returns to his Texas roots to sort out his life. Dusty eventually picks up the pieces and goes back to the stage, with his first show taking in place in Las Vegas.

Pure Country scored impressive box office numbers, despite lukewarm reviews. The soundtrack album produced the hit singles “I Cross My Heart” and “When Did You Stop Loving Me,” topped the country albums chart and sold more than 6 million copies. Though George received plaudits for his acting, he never took another starring part in a movie.
