Watch Joe Nichols’ New “Baby Got Back” Video Featuring Sir Mix-a-Lot

Joe Nichols dropped his new studio album, Never Gets Old, on July 28, and it features a song that his longtime fans will recognize from his live shows: a countrified cover of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.”

For the tune’s new video, Joe enlisted the help of Sir Mix-a-Lot, who plays the role of talent show judge. After Sir Mix-a-Lot sits through a few covers of his No. 1 song—including an accordion accompaniment and a heavy metal rendition—Joe takes the stage to the delight of the rap legend, who voices his support by donning a cowboy hat and singing along.

“It’s a fun song to sing,” says Joe to Nash Country Daily. “We started doing it to break up my live shows a little bit. It’s something very strange that you probably won’t ever hear, but we started playing it live and crowds loved it. We’ve been playing it for years, and when we got a little bit of extra time in the studio for this record, we just decided to chart it up really fast and throw it to the studio guys and say, ‘Hey, let’s just run this a couple of times and see what happens.’ They had fun playing it. You can hear it in their instrumentation. It’s a lot of fun to sing.”

New Season of “Carpool Karaoke” Features Dierks Bentley With Sheryl Crow & Blake Shelton With Chelsea Handler [Watch Trailer]

Carpool Karaoke released a new trailer for its upcoming season on Apple Music, and it features a lot of star power, including Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Will Smith, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Shaquille O’Neal, John Cena, Metallica and more. The new show is based on The Late Late Show’s viral videos starring James Corden, who hosts a singalong in his car with a celebrity while they drive around Los Angeles.

While the new show borrows James’ concept, it will primarily feature celebrities who are paired together sans James—although James makes at least one appearance with Will Smith.

On the country music front, Blake Shelton is paired with Chelsea Handler while Dierks Bentley teams with Sheryl Crow.

The first season of Carpool Karaoke, which will feature 16 celebrity pairings, will stream on Apple Music each week beginning on Aug. 8.

Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” Breaks Record for Most Weeks Atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart

Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road” Breaks Record for Most Weeks Atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart

Sam Hunt has cruised past Florida Georgia Line.

Sam “Body Like a Back Road” has been “doin’ 15 in a 30” for 25 straight weeks atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, which breaks the record set by Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise” in 2013.

“I wrote ‘Body Like a Back Road’ with my producer Zach Crowell, Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally,” said Sam to Nash Country Daily. “I connect music to the emotions that come from relationships, so most of the songs that I write are inspired by those circumstances, emotions, feelings, all that kind of stuff. ‘Body Like a Back Road’ is a lighthearted song that was a lot of fun to write. It sort of swings, and hopefully it’s easy to listen to and will put a smile on some folks’ faces.”

Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart All-Time Record

1. “Body Like a Back Road” – Sam Hunt — 25 weeks (2017)
1. “Cruise” – Florida Georgia Line – 24 weeks (2012)
2. “Walk On By” – Leroy Van Dyke – 19 weeks (1961)
3. “H.O.L.Y.” – Florida Georgia Line – 18 weeks (2016)
4. “Die a Happy Man” – Thomas Rhett 17 weeks – (2015)
5. “Love’s Gonna Live Here” – Buck Owens – 16 weeks (1963)

Sam is currently on his 15 in a 30 Tour with special guests Maren Morris, Chris Janson and Ryan Follese. Upcoming dates include San Diego, San Jose, Sacramento and two nights in Los Angeles.

Watch Brett Young Drown His Sorrows in New “Like I Loved You” Video

Following back-to-back No. 1 singles “Sleep Without You” and “In Case You Didn’t Know” from his self-titled debut album, Brett Young released his third single, “Like I Loved You,” to country radio on July 17. Now, the California native has a new video for the breakup tune, which was co-penned by Brett and Jesse Lee.

“Falling in love or falling out of love—those are the easiest songs to write because it’s just straight from personal experience,” says Brett to Nash Country Daily. “I think everybody’s felt both of those. Everybody’s been in love, everybody’s had heartbreak. We noticed that when we put together the 12 songs that would make the [self-titled debut] record, there was not a party song on this record. I’ve written a ton of party songs and not that there’s anything wrong with that. I think, in trying to tell my story and let people get to know me, it seemed like we should talk about things that I’ve lived.”

Directed by Phillip Lopez, the heartfelt clip was filmed in Los Angeles’ scenic Laurel Canyon.

“California is home for me, and it’s where I’ve lived a lot of these lyrics, so it just feels right to shoot the ‘Like I Loved You’ video back there,” Brett said. “I think just about everyone can identify with this song in some way. Most have us have had our hearts broken a time or two.”
