Butch Jones talks about who he is, family and balance on The Erik Ainge Show

Tennessee coach Butch Jones joined Erik Ainge and Brian Rice on The Erik Ainge Show Wednesday to talk about who he is rather than the team and player topics that he’ll discuss once players report on Friday and practice begins on Saturday.

You can hear Butch Jones’ pre-fall practice press conference on Friday at 11:30am here on Sports Radio WNML. We will be loaded here on the website with daily practice highlights, photos, audio and video interviews, practice reports and much more as we cover 2017 pre-season Tennessee football practice for you every single day!

Here are just a few quotes from the full Butch Jones WNML interview above.

Butch Jones on the football/family balance
“One of the best things I did this summer is be a dad and go to a couple of football camps.”

Butch Jones on how he spent his wedding anniversary with Barb
“Yesterday was our 25th wedding anniversary and everyone’s like ‘hey, what did you guys do, did you have a special night?’ I was in the office until about 9 o’clock at night, then got home, had dinner at the house, watched the kids swim in the pool and went to bed. You know you’re getting old when the anniversaries are kind of a day”

Butch Jones on what he would tell his 2012 self on his first day at UT
“Stay the course. There’s always going to be roadblocks. There’s always going to be naysayers. There’s always going to be individuals that want to take shots. That’s the nature of the business. Enjoy the journey along the way. Celebrate the small victories. Keep your eyes up and stay focused on staying the course and the journey. That’s to win championships here and develop a championship style football program in everything that we do, not just on the field but off the field and in the community. I would say just stay the course and keep working every day.”

Florida Georgia Line Teams Up With the Backstreet Boys for Upcoming “CMT Crossroads”

The bromance between Florida Georgia Line and the Backstreet Boys will continue on an upcoming episode of CMT Crossroads on August 30.

After FGL and BSB joined forces to record No. 1 hit, “God, Your Mama, and Me,” in 2016, the two boy bands embarked on 2017’s Smooth Tour for select stadium dates.

Now Brian Kelley, Tyler Hubbard, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, Howie D and AJ McLean will take the CMT Crossroads stage for an hour-long show to collaborate on a number of tunes, including “I Want It That Way,” “As Long As You Want Me,” “Cruise,” “H.O.L.Y.,” “God, Your Mama, and Me” and more.

“It’s been really cool to collaborate with the Backstreet Boys in so many different ways this year,” said FGL’s Brian Kelley. “And to be able to take our friendship—and smooth new dance moves—up a notch with this full-blown concert together is going to be epic.”

The Backstreet/FGL CMT Crossroads will air at 10 p.m. ET on Aug. 30.

Watch Kelsea Ballerini Perform “Legends” on “Good Morning America”

Watch Kelsea Ballerini Perform “Legends” on “Good Morning America”

After Kelsea Ballerini spilled the beans about the release date (Nov. 3) and name (Unapologetically) of her upcoming sophomore album on Good Morning America, she performed the album’s lead single, “Legends.”

Co-penned by Kelsea, Glen Whitehead and Hillary Lindsey, “Legends” follows a string of hits from Kelsea’s debut album, The First Time, including “Love Me Like You Mean It” (No. 1), “Dibs” (No. 1), “Peter Pan” (No. 1) and “Yeah Boy” (No. 3). Currently, “Legends” is No. 43 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart after seven weeks.

“’Legends’ is one of the first songs I wrote for the record and every time I’ve listened to it, I find a different meaning,” says Kelsea. “It brings me back to the heartbreak I wrote it from, it makes me think of my fans and the journey we’ve shared, and now I sing it from the perspective of a legendary love story. I hope everyone hears something in it that brings them to a place of nostalgia and is as excited as I am to begin this next chapter together.”

Watch Kelsea’s GMA performance below.
