Dan + Shay, Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, Drake White, Sara Evans and Lady Antebellum took part in a special outdoor CMT Crossroads featuring Earth, Wind & Fire that aired on June 23.

Some of Earth, Wind & Fire’s biggest hits got a country twist, including:

Shania Twain welcomed friends, colleagues and industry insiders into the Country Music Hall of Fame last night (June 27) for a sneak peek of her new exhibit, Shania Twain: Rock This Country.

Sparkling in a gold, bell-bottomed pantsuit, Shania addressed the crowd gathered in the Hall of Fame rotunda, saying, in part, “What I longed for a lot was just getting reacquainted—reunited, I guess is a better word—with my largest group of supporters, the fans. And I realized how much I missed them and I . . . in speeding past the ’90s and all of the craziness of that, which was beautifully crazy, but I never got to enjoy the moment and I was just racing on to the next thing, racing on to the future.”

Now Shania and her fans can race back and revisit the past in her new exhibit that opens on June 30 and runs through July 2018. Shania’s exhibit features outfits she wore in many of her stylish videos and in concert, personal memorabilia, photos, awards, stage props and more.

KNOXVILLE — Tennessee’s SEC women’s basketball opponents are set for the 2017-18 season, and the Lady Vols will welcome NCAA Final Four teams South Carolina and Mississippi State to Thompson-Boling Arena.

Along with match-ups against its permanent opponent, Vanderbilt, in Knoxville and Nashville, Tennessee also will face South Carolina and Texas A&M in home-and-home series. USC won the 2017 NCAA National Championship, but the Lady Vols defeated the Gamecocks last season at Columbia in a nationally-televised thriller in front of 13,690 fans, 76-74.

The Lady Vols’ home schedule also features games against Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. MSU, a team that UT split with a year ago, finished as runner-up to USC at the Final Four. Holly Warlick’s squad toppled the Bulldogs in front of a sellout record crowd of 10,500 in Starkville a year ago, 82-64.

In addition to the match-ups at USC, A&M and Vandy, Tennessee hits the road for contests at Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, LSU and Missouri.

Tennessee went 20-12 (10-6 SEC/5th) last season, its fifth under head coach Holly Warlick. The Lady Vols faced the nation’s fifth-toughest schedule, picking up victories over top-10 foes South Carolina, Mississippi State, Notre Dame and Stanford along the way.

UT will welcome back a pair of all-star performers in seniors Mercedes Russell and Jaime Nared. Russell, a 6-foot-6 center, averaged 16.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game a year ago, posting a Lady Vol junior record with 19 double-doubles. She was named an honorable mention All-American by AP and the WBCA and was a second-team All-SEC pick by AP and the coaches.

Nared, meanwhile, tallied 15.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest, carding eight double-doubles of her own. The team’s second-leading three-point shooter with 37 treys in 2016-17, Nared was named to the Coaches All-SEC Second Team as a junior.

Returnees joining Russell and Nared are 5-11 junior wing Meme Jackson, 6-2 senior forward Kortney Dunbar and 6-3 sophomore center Kamera Harris. Jackson played in all 32 games last season, starting 19 of them.

Five newcomers are set to hit the court this season, including 6-3 junior college All-America forward Cheridene Green (redshirted last season due to a knee injury) and the nation’s No. 1 ranked signing class. That group includes 6-0 guard Evina Westbrook (No. 2 in the HoopGurlz/espnW 100), 5-7 guard Anastasia Hayes (ranked No. 7), 6-2 wing Rennia Davis (ranked No. 12) and 6-4 center Kasiyahna Kushkituah (ranked No. 57).

Times, dates and television information for the SEC schedule will be released at a later date.

The guys from Rascal Flatts crashed a couple’s wedding reception in Oshkosh, Wis., over the weekend (June 24) and treated the newlyweds to a surprise performance of “God Bless the Broken Road.”

The bride and groom, Sara and Brandon, are longtime fans of the trio and had selected “God Bless the Broken Road” as their first dance. Unbeknownst to the newlyweds, a family friend and the bride’s sister set the wheels in motion for the surprise performance from the trio, who happened to be headlining the Country USA Music Festival in Oshkosh that very day.

Today (June 27), the Academy of Country Music announced the winners of the Industry Awards for the 52nd ACM Awards.

Voted on by the Academy’s professional members, the Industry Awards honor the behind-the-scenes professionals and venues that contribute to the artistry, success and longevity of country music.

The Industry winners will be recognized during the 11th annual ACM Honors, an evening dedicated to the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 52nd ACM Awards. The 11th annual ACM Honors will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and will be broadcast at a later date on CBS.

Watch Hunter Hayes Testify About Girlfriend in New “Amen” Video

Yesterday (June 26), Hunter Hayes released a new video for “Amen,” a song he made available for streaming on his birthday in September 2016.

Hunter recently revealed to NKD magazine that the upbeat tune was inspired by his longtime girlfriend, Libby Barnes, saying, “Libby has been watching me go through this whole process, and that just needs to be said. The struggle and the consistency of someone being a glue for you when they didn’t have to be was important for me to talk about.”

Co-penned by Hunter, J.T. Harding and Josh Osborne, “Amen” finds Hunter belting out heartfelt lyrics like, “Well, I’ve been searching, I’ve been praying / I’ve been hurt and I’ve been patient / I’ve been lost and found again / Waiting for my amen / Looking at you now I believe / Someone up there’s looking out for me / And I know how my prayer ends / Baby, you’re my amen.”

Almost two years after debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart with Something More Than Free, Jason Isbell has done it again.

Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit’s new album, The Nashville Sound, is No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart this week, selling 54,000 equivalent albums (51,000 in pure sales), according to Nielsen Music. Jason’s latest effort bests the 46,000 units Something More Than Free moved in its first week in August 2015.

The Nashville Sound also debuted at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

The new 10-song offering addresses a range of real-life subjects, including politics and cultural privilege (“White Man’s World”), longing nostalgia (“The Last of My Kind”), love and mortality (“If We Were Vampires”), the toxic effect of today’s pressures (“Anxiety”), the remnants of a break-up (“Chaos and Clothes”) and finding hope (“Something to Love”).

The new studio album reunited Jason will his band, the 400 Unit (Derry deBorja, Chad Gamble, Jimbo Hart, Amanda Shires and Sadler Vaden), for their first project together since 2011’s Here We Rest. Dave Cobb, who produced Jason’s previous albums Southeastern (2013) and Something More Than Free (2015), also helmed The Nashville Sound.

Scotty McCreery Is Proud of Lauren Alaina’s Success & Sees It as Validating “Everything We Did on ‘Idol’”

In 2011, then-teenagers Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina endeared themselves to a lot of television viewers during their Season 10 stint on American Idol. And for that, their careers will probably always be intertwined.

In the six years since Scotty was crowned Idol champion and Lauren finished as the runner-up, both stars have had their shares of successes and setbacks. Scotty scored Top 10 hits with “See You Tonight” and “Feelin’ It” in 2014, but he lost his record contract with Mercury in 2016. Lauren underwent vocal cord surgery in 2014, but she stormed back with her first No. 1 single, “Road Less Traveled,” in 2017.

Lauren’s recent No. 1 has been validating to Scotty, a point he mentioned to Nash Country Daily during a sit-down to chat about his new single, “Five More Minutes.”

“After ‘Road Less Traveled’ went number one, I texted Lauren and let her know how proud I was of her,” said Scotty. “We went through something together with Idol that no one will ever truly understand. It was a blast and fun, but they definitely put us through the wringer, so to go through that with her, she’ll always be kind of a sister to me. We don’t talk as much as we used to, but she’s such an awesome person. And, in my opinion, she’s got one of the best dang voices in Nashville. She’s a powerhouse. I’m so proud of her to get that number one. It kind of validates everything we did on Idol, and it’s so cool to see that success for her.”
