Vote Now: Whose Predators National Anthem Performance Was Your Favorite—Carrie, Luke, LBT, Vince or Lady A?

The Nashville Predators pulled out all of the stops in the first two rounds of the NHL playoffs by unleashing Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Vince Gill and Lady Antebellum to perform the national anthem before their five home games. And wouldn’t you know it, the Preds won all five games. That’s some good mojo.

As the Preds gear up for the Western Conference Final against the Edmonton Oilers or Anaheim Ducks, it will be exciting to see who the Preds unleash for the next performance of the national anthem: Dierks Bentley? Kelsea Ballerini? Reba McEntire? Keith Urban? Garth Brooks? Kenny Chesney? The list of possible performers goes on and on. Music City has no shortage of talent.

In the meantime, watch the five performances from Carrie, Luke, LBT, Vince and Lady A (below) and vote on your favorite one. If you don’t see the poll below, click on this VOTE link.

Hijinks Ensue as Chris Stapleton Performs “Broken Halo” & Talks New Album With Howard Stern [Watch]

Hijinks Ensue as Chris Stapleton Performs “Broken Halo” & Talks New Album With Howard Stern [Watch]

Chris Stapleton was a guest on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM yesterday (May 9) to talk about his new album, From A Room: Volume 1, which dropped on May 5. As expected, hijinks ensued from the “King of All Media” and co-host Robin Quivers.

Here’s my favorite excerpt from the interview (which has been slightly edited for flow).

Howard: “The new album is called From A Room. And the reason it’s A Room, which is kind of catchy, you recorded this in the A Room. The studio was called A Room.”

Chris: “Yeah, RCA Studio A . . . a lot of great Dolly Parton tracks were made there, Waylon Jennings, Elvis recorded in there. There’s a lot of history in that room.”

Howard: “Is that necessary? Like, does that kinda get you off that you know, like, Elvis recorded there and Dolly Parton?”

Chris: “I don’t know if it gets me off, but it certainly inspires me . . . any place that has history like that . . . ”

Howard: “I put out an album years ago, but I recorded it at the A-Hole Room. The thing was not a hit, I’ll tell ya that.”

Robin: “It had a sound . . . and a smell.”

Chris also performed his new tune, “Broken Halo,” which is featured on the new album.

Watch Maren Morris Perform New Single, “I Could Use a Love Song,” on “The Voice”

Last night (May 9), Maren Morris stopped by The Voice to perform her new single, “I Could Use a Love Song.”

The new tune, which was co-written by Maren, Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz, is currently No. 34 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart after eight weeks.

While it was Maren’s first time performing on The Voice stage, it wasn’t the first time we’ve heard her music on the NBC show. Contestant Casi Joy performed Maren’s “My Church” in the Knockout Round in April.

Brett Eldredge Announces New Self-Titled Album, Shows Off Cover Art & Releases Track Listing

Following the back-to-back successes of previous studio albums Bring You Back (2013) and Illinois (2015), Brett Eldredge announced yesterday (May 9) that his upcoming self-titled album will drop on August 4.

“It’s kind of crazy to see an album cover with just your name on it,” Brett said. “I think that shows what I want to say with this album. Maybe it takes a little bit of guts to put out a self-titled album—but if it’s 100 percent honestly you, then that should come across through the music. That’s my name and I hope my fans love me for me. Hopefully they feel the connection of these songs and they help them through their everyday lives. Because that’s why I make this music.”

Brett released the album’s lead single, “Something’ I’m Good At,” in February. After 11 weeks on the chart, the tune is currently No. 28 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

Today! Carrie Underwood Celebrates 9-Year Anniversary of Becoming a Grand Ole Opry Member

As a child growing up in Oklahoma, Carrie Underwood watched the Grand Ole Opry on television at her grandparents’ house. In 2005, Carrie made her Opry debut two weeks after winning American Idol.

Just three years into her country music career, childhood hero Randy Travis surprised Carrie with an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry during a performance on March 15, 2008. Less than two months later on May 10, 2008—nine years ago today—fellow Okie Garth Brooks inducted Carrie into the esteemed organization.

“I think being a member of the Grand Ole Opry is just one of the most special things for anybody who has ever wanted to be a country music singer,” said Carrie to Nash Country Daily in 2015. “It’s just such a cool thing. There’s no other genre of music that has something like it—you can be a member of this club. It’s just such a special, elite family. It’s definitely one of my proudest moments and highest honors.”

Carrie performs during her 100th Opry show.

In March 2017, Carrie celebrated her 100th appearance on the Opry stage.

“I grew up dreaming of one day performing here and maybe even becoming a member,” said Carrie. “That dream comes true over and over each time I take the Opry stage. Here’s to the next 100.”

Happy anniversary, Carrie.

Grand Proposal: Brad Paisley Helps Couple Get Engaged During Grand Ole Opry Performance [Watch]

A Grand Ole Opry member since 2001, you never know what Brad Paisley is going to do when he steps on the hallowed Opry circle. On Saturday, May 6, he helped one couple continue the circle of love.

Brad invited local fireman Cody and his girlfriend, Brittany, onstage. After making a little small talk with the couple, Brad handed the mic over to Cody.

“You are the love of my life and my best friend,” said Cody on bended knee. “And I can’t imagine living the rest of my life without you. So will you marry me?”

To the delight of the Opry crowd, Brittany said “yes,” and the couple had their first post-engagement dance as Brad sang “Today.”

Chris Stapleton had a busy night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 8.

In a sketch called “First Drafts of Rock,” Chris teamed with Jimmy and Kevin Bacon (drums) for a remake of ZZ Top’s “Legs,” with more than a few altered lyrics, including “She’s got hands / She knows how to wave them / She’s got eyebrows / She knows how to raise them / She’s got nostrils / She knows how to flare them / She’s got a butt cheek / She’s actually got a pair of them.

Check out the bit below.

Later in the show, Chris performed his new song, “I Was Wrong,” which is featured on his new album, From A Room: Volume 1.
