Six years after earning his previous No. 1 single with 2010’s “All Over Me,” Josh has reached the top of the Mediabase chart with “Hometown Girl.” Written by Marc Beeson and Daniel Tashian, “Hometown Girl” is the second single from Josh’s sixth studio album, Deep South, which dropped on March 10 and reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Album’s chart.
Hometown Girl is officially #1!!!!! Thank you God, country radio, and MCA Nashville!! Party time!!🎉🎉☝🏼️
“I feel like this song kind of basically speaks to my female fan base,” says Josh to Nash Country Daily. “I feel like for my female fans, there’s definitely bits and pieces of it that they can just kind of pick and choose from. It’s like, ‘Oh, that’s me’ or ‘Oh, this is me’ or whatever. I’m seeing that every night that I play it. The girls just love it. For the guys, I think that’s the kind of girl that they’re looking for—or they already have one or at least they hope they do. I love the message of the song and the melody is so catchy.”
Brett Eldredge has been extremely busy since the release of his sophomore album, Illiniois, in 2015. The “Something I’m Good At” singer has racked up seven consecutive songs that hit the top of the charts. So, it’s no surprise that Brett took a little break and headed out on a much-deserved European vacation.
Beginning in Paris, France, the 6’4″ singer posted a picture on Instagram, standing beneath the Eiffel Tower with the caption that read, “Hi from Paris…told ya I was here.”
Brett then went on to share pictures from Barcelona, Málaga and Madrid, Spain where he went for a swim, visited castles and celebrated 1 million followers on Instagram with a glass of Champagne.
We’re sure hoping Brett’s vacation didn’t turn out to be anything like the Griswold’s in National Lampoon’s European Vacation.
Check out the photos from Brett’s well deserved vacation.
Maren Morris and her boyfriend Ryan Hurd have become inseparable as of late. The lovebirds have been seen out and about on red carpets, sharing birthday celebrations, going on vacation together and enjoying late night outings.
Maren and Ryan, who met at a writing session in 2013, have been keeping us in their relationship loop through posts on their Instagram accounts. Neither of the rising stars are hold back on sharing their feelings about one another.
“He’s always just been so talented, but I think the biggest thing about him that I fell in love with was just his kind heart,” Maren told Entertainment Tonight. “He’s one of the most thoughtful people in the world.”
The “My Church” singer is so enamored with her beau, that she took to Instagram to share a love note for the main man in her life.
“Years ago we made a pact,” Maren begins the Instagram post. “A handshake that we’d try this “artist thing” out because our hearts were telling us to do so, but we also agreed we’d never let ego or jealousy precede the love we have for one another. Saw you close your first ever tour this week and just a few short years ago, I was meeting you in a dimly lit writing room somewhere; intrigued and smiling like a lunatic at a boy with a legal pad full of song titles. I’m still confused at why you don’t own a laptop. Your heart is unlike anyone’s I’ve ever known, @ryanhurd . You’ve been at my side for every award & moment, and now I get to see you shake this world up. Chase your dream and cheer theirs on, too.”
Looks like Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott was recently upstaged by her 3-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye.
Hillary was appearing on HSN (Home Shopping Network) to promote her new clothing line, LaBellum—a play on the group’s name—consisting of modern, bohemian fashions. The 22-piece collection launched on April 1 and can be purchased exclusively at HSN.com.
While Hillary was talking with the show’s host about the new line, Eisele walked out with her dad, Lady A’s drummer Chris Tyrell, and into her mother’s arms. Eisele said her hellos and asked for a microphone.
“I get a real microphone,” Eisele said in the video, as her mom sets her down to sing. The 3-year-old, who is not shy in front of the cameras, proceeded to steal the spotlight by singing Ray Charles’ “Hit the Road Jack.” At the end of the song, little Eisele took a bow.
Looks like the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Watch as the adorable Eisele Kaye Tyrell steals the show at the 36:02 mark.

Here are some of my observations and notes from the 2017 Dish Orange & White Spring Game.
Vince’s View
*My literal “view” was from the press box, high in the clouds at Neyland Stadium, from the Vol Network booth contributing to the broadcast and spotting for the voice of the Vols, Bob Kesling.
*22 players were held out due to either injury or precaution. They were:
RB John Kelly
WR Josh Smith
WR Brandon Johnson
OL Chance Hall
OL Brett Kendrick
OL Coleman Thomas
OL Jack Jones
OL Venzell Boulware
OL Devante Brooks
DT Shy Tuttle
DT Kendal Vickers
DT Kahlil McKenzie
DE Kyle Phillips
DE Jonathan Kongbo
LB Quarte Sapp
LB Elliott Berry
LB Colton Jumper
LB Darrin Kirkland Jr.
CB Emmanuel Moseley
NB/S Rashaan Gaulden
S/KR Evan Berry
S Micah Abernathy
*We obviously didn’t get to see as much of the team in 11-on-11 settings running plays or in one-on-one competition drills because of severe weather that approached led to the cancelling of the 2nd half of the event.
*The biggest draw and curiosity all spring and going for the game was the quarterback competition. Junior Quinten Dormady and redshirt freshman Jarrett Guarantano delivered with encouraging results. Both quarterbacks played well overall.
*Dormady seemed to be most in-control and on-time in his drop backs and the results were there as well. Dormady was 10-of-10 for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Both his 1-yard TD pass on a back shoulder throw to Jennings and his 19-yard TD pass hitting Eli Wolf in-stride were perfectly executed. Dormady carried himself like he belonged.
*Guarantano was a little off in his timing in the pocket, He was a little late on a couple of throws, one of which was nearly intercepted. He also held on to the ball too long and was sacked twice. There was no tackling of the quarterbacks so those were just touch sacks.
*It should be pointed out that I don’t think Guarantano could fully show what he might be able to in a game situation with the game rules. He wasn’t able to show his escapability because of the touch rule, and there was no QB run game, so he wasn’t able to display his athleticism and running ability that many of believe he has. Dormady has some of those skills as well, but Guarantano may be on another level with his legs.
*Dormady won the QB Skills Challenge as well, including the first-ever (in all the many years of doing that) pass dropped into the bucket by a quarterback according to Tim Priest of the Vol Network. Guarantano was whistling throws with tremendous velocity in the QB skills challenge. Freshman QB Will McBride threw it well in this as well. At the end, they set-up a target with a Jauan Jennings cut-out target for the quarterbacks to reenact the Hail Mary throw to win at Georgia last season and try to reach. You knew Butch had a different surprise up his sleeve. That tricky UT program caretaker.
*Both Dormady and Guarantano handled the postgame interviews smoothly as usual. Dormady did reference the competition between him and Guarantano, which was nice for someone to admit. We all know those are the only two quarterbacks competing for the starting job even though those two haven’t been singled out. They evenly split the first and second team series with Dormady getting the first series with the ones followed by Guarantano.
*None of the quarterbacks threw deep pass routes. Most were short to intermediate routes.
*RB Carlin Fils-aime’s best run was when he bounced outside with nice speed for a 9-yard run. At 175, even though he ran hard, he was not able to break many tackles running inside against far less competition than he would face in SEC games. It was all walk-ons after Fils-aime. Incoming freshman Ty Chandler will step in and compete for that second running back spot behind starter John Kelly.
*DE Darrell Taylor is a very important player for UT’s defense looking to replace sacks and snaps from Derek Barnett, Corey Vereen and LaTroy Lewis at defensive end. Taylor was credited with two sacks. He also had several unofficial QB pressures. He and LB Daniel Bituli were the most active players on the front seven for the Vols.
*The 1st team offensive line was as follows:
LT – Drew Richmond (Jr)
LG – Ryan Johnson (R-Fr)
C – Jashon Robertson (Sr)
RG – Trey Smith (Fr)
RT – Marcus Tatum (So)
There’s a chance that only Richmond at LT will be what you see in the opener. I’m confident that Robertson and Smith will start, but they could be at LG and RT respectively. UT certainly has options when fully healthy. I thought Smith, Richmond and Robertson played well, overall.
*The 2nd team offensive line was as follows:
LT – Nathan Niehaus (R-Fr)
LG – Tommy Sprague (R-Fr walk-on)
C – Brian Garvey (R-Fr walk-on)
RG – Riley Locklear (Fr)
RT – Joe Keeler (R-So walk-on)
*There’s no reason why PK Aaron Medley, entering his senior year after three years as UT’s kicker, should miss a 35-yard FG in a spring game with no rush. He’s an area of concern for this football team. He’s 0-for-5 from 50+ yards. 47 yards is the longest of his career. He’s 9-of-25 from 40+ yards in three seasons. Butch Jones has passed on long field goal attempts because of the lack of trust in him factoring in. We’ll see if incoming freshman scholarship placekicker Brent Cimaglia can provide some legit competition this summer and fall.
*Holder Holden Foster has apparently been working at kicker because he attempted and made the PAT on the second Vols TD.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The offense had its day as the White team took a 44-29 win over the Orange team in the 2017 DISH Orange and White Game at Neyland Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The game was shortened to one half due to inclement weather.
Junior quarterback Quinten Dormady went 10-for-10 for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Redshirt freshman Jarrett Guarantano finished 4-for-5 for 41 yards. Redshirt sophomore Sheriron Jones was 1-for-4 for two yards.
Senior right end Ethan Wolf had three receptions for 28 yards. Junior receiver Jauan Jennings had three catches for 23 yards and one touchdown.
Eleven different receivers caught passes on the day for 163 total yards. Guarantano hit redshirt freshman Latrell Williams for a 23-yard completion in the first quarter for the longest completion of the day.
Sophomore Carlin Fils-aime rushed seven times for 32 yards (4.6-yard average) and sophomore Taeler Dowdy had eight carries for 22 yards.
On the defensive side, Landon Knoll led the Orange team with five tackles. The redshirt sophomore linebacker had five tackles (two solo). Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Darrell Taylor sacked Guarantano twice for eight yards.
Tennessee recognized 11 Vols during the awards ceremony and also honored VFL Derek Barnett. Team 121 presented Barnett with his spring jersey as well as framed photos commemorating his Tennessee all-time sack record. Barnett broke Reggie White’s all-time UT record when he posted the 33rd sack of his career against Nebraska in the 2016 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Dec. 30.
The White team jumped out to 2-1 lead in the Circle of Life drills. After sophomore defensive back Nigel Warrior got the best of sophomore receiver Marquez Callaway in the second one-on-one test of strength and leverage for the defense’s first point, redshirt sophomore Eli Wolf defeated freshman Deandre Johnson and senior tight Jakob Johnson defeated redshirt sophomore linebacker Austin Smith.
Dormady led the White team on a 10-play, 70-yard drive, going 5-for-5 for 51 yards and capped the series with a one-yard touchdown pass to Jennings on the left side of the end zone. The White led 20-3 at the end of the opening drive.
In the second quarter, Dormady threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Eli Wolf that extended the White’s lead to 42-21 after an extra point.
In the quarterback competition, each quarterback targeted a series of stationary and moving targets that covered three-quarters of the field. All five quarterbacks then attempted the “Dobbs Hail Mary,” throwing the ball from midfield to a cutout of Jennings in the front left corner of the end zone. Freshman Will McBride had a strong showing scoring nine points in the drill, but Dormady earned the win with 10 points.
