Rascal Flatts Ready to Open Rascal Flatts Bar and Grill in Cleveland, Los Angeles and Connecticut

Rascal Flatts Ready to Open Rascal Flatts Bar and Grill in Cleveland, Los Angeles and Connecticut

Following in the footsteps of fellow artists like Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley and Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts have taken the steps to enter the restaurant business, opening their own eatery.

While the venture has been talked about since 2012, the first of the restaurants is finally set to open in Cleveland, in May—relatively close to the release of the trio’s new album, Back To Us, set to drop May 19.

“Well, they’re building the first one right now in Cleveland,” Jay tells Nash Country Daily. “It’s supposed to be open by the end of May, actually.”

“I think LA next,” adds Gary. “And then there’s one in Connecticut too that’s on it’s way.”

But don’t expect the trio’s restaurants to be like your typical honky-tonk bars.

“It’s like a concert venue,” explains Jay. “You can do live music in there. It’s just an American bar and restaurant. The menu is influenced by the three of us and some of our favorites that our families made over the years.”

“It’s place where we would want to go to,” adds Joe Don.

“It’s really going to be fun family atmosphere, says Gary. “It’s just going to be great. It’s not like Toby’s, Honky Tonk bar.

“It’s more like a Jay Alexander’s with a stage in it,” jokes Jay. “With memorabilia here and there. We’re excited about it. We’re not running it. There’s a group that came to us and pitched us this idea to license our names.”

“God. Can you imagine if we tried to run it on our own,” laughs Joe Don. “That place would be a wreck.”

And as for the name? We bet the guys didn’t have to think long and hard about what to call the new restaurant.

“It’s called Rascal Flatts Bar and Grill. Just so there’s no confusion,” laughs Jay. “‘Are we in the right place? Where’s that restaurant the Flatts were opening up?’

Look out for the Rascal Flatts Bar and Grill coming soon to a city near you—If you live in Cleveland, Los Angeles or Stamford, Conn.

Carrie Underwood’s Former Backup Singer, Andrea Thomas, Takes On Faith Hill’s “Cry” in “The Voice” Knockout Round

Carrie Underwood’s Former Backup Singer, Andrea Thomas, Takes On Faith Hill’s “Cry” in “The Voice” Knockout Round

In one of the first Team Blake knockout rounds on The Voice Monday night (April 10), Blake Shelton pitted Andrea Thomas against Lauren Duski for the elimination showdown.

Andrea, who is a former backup singer for Carrie Underwood, chose Faith Hill’s “Cry” for her song.

“If you sing backup for Carrie, you sing perfectly. Maybe it’s time to dirty it up,” Blake said to Andrea before her performance.

Blake pitted Andrea against Lauren Duski, who chose Alison Krauss’ “When You Say Nothing At All” (originally sung by Keith Whitley).

“I paired Andrea and Lauren because they’re my pop-leaning country artists,” Blake explained. “Selfishly, I don’t want to do it, but I think it’s the best thing for my team.”

Blake had to make the hard decision all by himself. “This is the one I’ve been dreading,” he said. In the end, Blake chose Lauren over Andrea to continue on the show.

Craig (second from left) and the USO Tour members visit with troops.

Craig recently completed his eighth USO Tour, a weeklong trip that made stops in Hawaii, Guam, Diego Garcia, Qatar, Italy and Afghanistan, as well as aboard the USS George H. W. Bush. Joining Craig on the tour were Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Paul J. Selva, UFC fighter Dominick Cruz, chef Robert Irvine, Olympic swimmer Katie Meili and entertainer Jim Karol.

“Having served, I know how important it is to feel the support from everyone back home, so I’m always up for the chance to spend time with our soldiers serving abroad,” Craig tells Nash Country Daily. “On this last USO Tour, we visited troops in six countries, and it’s always an honor getting to thank our troops in person for their service and sacrifice for our country.”

Craig will be playing a string of upcoming concert dates, and be sure to check out the eighth season of Craig’s award-winning television series, Craig Morgan: All Access Outdoors, on the Outdoor Channel this summer.
