Bad to the Bone: Darius Rucker Gets His Wish to Be the “Worst Dude on the Planet”

Bad to the Bone: Darius Rucker Gets His Wish to Be the “Worst Dude on the Planet”

Darius Rucker, country music’s consummate Mr. Nice Guy—seriously, find me one person who doesn’t love Hootie—will become the “worst dude on the planet” during an upcoming episode of Hawaii 5-0.

On Friday, February 24, Darius guest stars on the CBS series as Desmond Abati, a terrorist bomb-maker.

“I play the main villain and I’m a terrorist bomb-maker in the show,” says Darius to NASH Prep. “You know, the executive producer, when we were talking about it, asked me what I wanted to do, if I wanted to play myself and I was like, ‘Man, I wanna play the bad guy. You know, I wanna be the worst dude on the planet.’ And that’s what they made me in the show.”

While Darius dons his best bad-guy persona for the episode, there was nothing bad about being in the Aloha State for the filming of the hour-long drama, which is currently in its seventh season.

“You get to go to Hawaii for nine days, and there’s nothing wrong with that,” says Darius. “It was fun. I’m looking forward to it coming out on Friday.”

Tune in to CBS on Friday, Feb. 24, at 9 p.m. ET to catch Darius in action on Hawaii 5-O.

Craig Campbell Gets New Ink In Honor of His Daughters, Preslee and Kinni Rose

Craig Campbell Gets New Ink In Honor of His Daughters, Preslee and Kinni Rose

If you ask Craig Campbell to describe his relationship with his daughters, Preslee and Kinni Rose, you’ll hear him say, “It’s the best thing ever. They are the reasons I do what I do.”

As a matter of fact, that’s just why the “Outskirts of Heaven” singer got some new tattoos—to honor his baby girls. With tattoos already on his stomach, back, and forearm, Craig wanted to add his daughters birth dates and a rose—for Kinni Rose— to his already existing forearm tats.

“These are their birth dates in Roman numerals but it’s in their handwriting, Craig shares with Nash Country Daily. “I told them to write it down on an index card, so then I had them copied to my arm.

“The rose is, well Kinni’s middle name is Rose, and these symbols are their zodiac signs. Then this one [pointing to musical notes] is “Family Man”—my first song I had on the radio—so this whole stretch [on the arm] is all about my girls, my wife and my family.”

With such a close relationship to their dad, it’s inevitable that his young daughters would catch the musical bug. Craig does admit that both Kinni Rose and Preslee love singing, but they still haven’t declared that they want to follow in their father’s footsteps.

“I have a feeling when Preslee realizes how much she does love it and being able to play and sing in front of an audience and get the responses like I’ve gotten—that’s kinda how I got hooked—she’ll get involved,” Craig adds. “She’s already writing songs. Her and her mama wrote a song called “Prayers Go Up, Blessings Come Down.” Music, I think, will be a part of her life somehow.”

Check out Craig’s new tattoos from his Instagram post.

Watch Carrie Underwood’s New Instagram Duet of “Jesus Loves Me” With Talented Up-And-Comer Isaiah Fisher

Watch Carrie Underwood’s New Instagram Duet of “Jesus Loves Me” With Talented Up-And-Comer Isaiah Fisher

Carrie Underwood’s nearly 2-year-old son, Isaiah Fisher, is a chip off the ol’ block when it comes to singing like his mama.

Today (Feb. 22) while riding in the car, Carrie posted an Instagram video of the mother-and-son duo singing “Jesus Loves Me,” with the caption “Yes, Jesus loves us…”

Unfortunately, due to the rear-facing car seat, we can’t confirm that Isaiah was actually singing. There’s a small chance his vocals were dubbed in after auto-tuning. In fact, we can’t even confirm it’s Isaiah in the car seat. All we know is Carrie posted an Instagram video, and it has more than 329,000 views in less than one hour.

We kid, we kid . . . check out the video below of Carrie’s kid in action.

Yes, Jesus loves us…

Kimberly Schlapman’s Daughter May Be In Training for Upcoming Reality Competition, “Ultimate Beastmaster”

Kimberly Schlapman’s Daughter May Be In Training for Upcoming Reality Competition, “Ultimate Beastmaster”

Between her Simply Southern cooking show, a new baby at home and a steady gig as one fourth of the super group Little Big Town, Kimberly Schlapman found some time to play TV host during the third hour of the Today show this morning (Feb. 22).

The blonde beauty had the pleasure of co-hosting the show with Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones, where she had the opportunity to interview actor and former NFL star, Terry Crews, from FOX’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

As Terry talked about his new competition series, Ultimate Beastmaster— a Netflix reality competition where contestants from all over the world tackle an extreme obstacle course—Kimberly shared a story about her little girl, Daisy, getting into the action.

“At our house, my little girl does gymnastics and we have a wedge mat, and one day she was watching these shows and I heard, ‘Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,’ Kimberly shared. “And I went in the bedroom and she had her wedge mat up against the door and she was running up her door, all the way up the door to hang on the top of the door.”

Check out Kimberly’s turn as co-host on the Today show.

Darius Rucker Makes Musical Memories Visiting Patients at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York

Darius Rucker Makes Musical Memories Visiting Patients at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York

Following his appearance on the Today show Tuesday (Feb. 21), Darius Rucker made it a priority to visit patients at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City as a volunteer for Musicians On Call.

Musicians On Call is a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in hospitals across the country. A long time supporter of the organization, Darius went room to room in the orthopedic rehab unit, taking requests and performing for hospital staff along the way.

The South Carolina native played his No. 1 hit “Wagon Wheel” before treating patients to Hootie & The Blowfish tunes like, “Hold My Hand” and “Only Wanna Be With You.”

As for the reason Darius takes the time to visit the hospitals, “See the look on their faces, especially when they hear a song they know. They are just so happy. There is nothing better than that,” he tells NBC Nightly News. You never feel bad leaving there. You see a kid who’s sick and their whole family is in there and you walk in and you know that you are just helping them a little bit.”

Jason Aldean’s Black Jack Ridge Farm in Tennessee Is on the Market for $4.5 Million [Photo Gallery]

Jason Aldean’s Black Jack Ridge Farm in Tennessee Is on the Market for $4.5 Million [Photo Gallery]

Jason Aldean’s Black Jack Ridge farm outside of Centerville, Tenn. (60 miles southwest of Nashville) is for sale for $4,599,000.

The 1,436-acre property boasts six bedrooms and 5.5 baths on the 4,032-square-foot retreat, including a luxury lodge, three-bay garage and multi-purpose outbuildings.

A portion of the online description reads: “Let the bubbling brooks on this 1,436-acre property serve as your private fishery or hunt turkey and deer from numerous points inside the high game fences that surround the land. Deer stands and feeding stations are spread throughout the property, as are creeks that meander through the mature hardwoods and dense forest, which makes Black Jack Ridge the ideal habitat for wildlife and hunting.”

Jason also owns a 120-acre country estate in Columbia, Tenn. (45 miles south of Nashville) that he purchased in 2016 for $5.35 million. It’s good to be the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year.

Meghan Linsey Suffers Nasty Brown Recluse Spider Bite

Meghan Linsey Suffers Nasty Brown Recluse Spider Bite

Brett Eldredge finds a snake in his toilet and Kip Moore talks to a spider in his hotel room, but the most serious brush with an arachnid came for Meghan Linsey when she encountered a brown recluse spider.

It turns out, 9 days ago while Meghan—runner up on season 8 of The Voice—was asleep, a brown recluse spider bit her face on the lower part of her left eye. The Louisiana native has taken to her Instagram account to post photos of her affected eye, as well as a picture of the offending spider. Warning, the pictures are not pretty. Meghan also managed to kill the spider in her sleep, finding it in her hand when she woke up.

“I know I’ve been MIA on social media for a while, so I wanted to fill you all in on what’s going on. These pics are hard to share, but I think it’s important for me to be open with you guys. Everything isn’t perfect all of the time. We all go through hard stuff. So, 9 days ago, on February 12, I woke up to a stinging sensation on my face. I looked and in my right hand was a dead spider. Somehow while I was sleeping, a spider had bit me and I had killed it. This scenario is literally on the top of my nightmare list. The stinging was awful and I knew it had to be poisonous. I put the spider in a bag and headed to urgent care. Over the course of the last 9 days, I have experienced the most insane symptoms. From excruciating nerve pain in my face, muscle spasms, full body rash, extreme swelling… etc. It has really been rough. It has been confirmed that I was bit by a brown recluse spider, one of two of the most poisonous spiders in the US. I am still dealing with the wound on my face, but I finally found the right meds to control the nerve pain. I know I’m not out of the woods on this yet, but I am so incredibly grateful for my health and I will never take it for granted again. Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated.

I will be getting back in the studio this week, to work on the new record! I can’t wait to finish it. And I can’t wait to get back on the road on March 9 & 10- I will be playing in Alaska! And PLEASE, if you live in area where these spiders are, do some research and learn how to protect yourself! I know this is not common at all, but better safe than sorry!

Love you all!
Xo
Meg

We’re glad to hear that Meghan is doing better and will be out and about performing again. NCD wishes her a speedy recovery.

Luke Bryan Thanks Fans for Prayers After the Passing of His Niece

Luke Bryan Thanks Fans for Prayers After the Passing of His Niece

Our condolences go out to Luke and Caroline Bryan and their family after the passing of their niece, Sadie Brett Boyer, who was the daughter of Bo Boyer (Caroline’s brother) and Ellen Wells Boyer. Brett, as the baby was affectionately known, suffered from a congenital heart defect, according to Ellen’s Facebook page.

Ellen has been updating friends and family of Baby Brett’s prognosis dating back to November 2016. As of yesterday, Brett took a turn for the worse, and her mother posted the following messages on Facebook. “Brett had declined overnight. Please-Please pray with us. Please pray for this infection to clear and for her liver to be able to work properly.”

Today (Feb. 21), Nash Country Daily has learned of Brett’s passing. Luke took to his Twitter account to thank his fans for their support, saying, “We thank all of you for your prayers. Love y’all.”

It’s another sad loss for the Bryan family. In 1996, Luke’s older brother, Chris, died in a car accident, followed by the unexpected death of his sister, Kelly, in 2007. In 2015, tragedy struck again when Luke’s brother-in-law, Ben Lee Cheshire, passed away.

NCD sends our condolences to Luke, Caroline, Bo, Ellen and the entire Bryan-Boyer family.

Nick’s 10-minute tune topic: Angelina Jolie and her kids eating spiders and crickets on a trip to Cambodia.
